So last week I wrote a post about how underwhelmed and frustrated I was at the Giuliani/Powell/Ellis presser last week. People flipped out and were furious that I had the audacity to express anything but total confidence in them. Tucker Carlson’s monologue that same night also expressed doubts. So naturally, the Trump idolaters were furious with Tucker too.
I wrote a follow up post to the people who were angry. As a result of that post, I culled some more followers on FB who were still furious and incapable of refraining from being complete a-holes in the comments.
I was holed up in the hospital with my kid for four days until last night, so stopped paying a lot of attention to the news until this morning. And when I saw that Rush Limbaugh himself was questioning the presser as well, I was curious. Are people now furious at Rush too? Are conservatives allowed to express anything OTHER than complete trust and faith in Trump’s team without getting canceled?
You call a gigantic press conference like that — one that lasts an hour — and you announce massive bombshells, then you better have some bombshells. There better be something at that press conference other than what we got…I talked to so many people who were blown away by it, by the very nature of the press conference. They promised blockbuster stuff and then nothing happened, and that’s just, it’s not good.
The number of people I saw in our FB comments who said they were unfollowing us, and who then said they’d never watch Tucker again, simply because we had the audacity to question how effective that presser was, and to question how strong of a case Giuliani and Powell had, was MINDBOGGLING. I was surprised to see so many conservatives engaging in the very same cancellation behavior we mock when we see it from leftists.
So if you happen to be one of those people, and you’re reading this right now, are you pissed off at and canceling Rush too? At what point do you maybe possibly admit that there are good reasons to be frustrated and NOT “trust the plan?”
Off topic: Thank you so much to those of you who’ve been praying for my son. He is home as of last night, and so far so good! It was a rough few days but it felt really good to know that so many people were thinking of us. I know Daisy gave a quick FB video update Monday morning to let y’all know that there wouldn’t be any videos this week, but we will be back at it next Monday! Excited to get back into that routine. Happy Thanksgiving to you all!
