Pelosi Says It’s Her “Right As Speaker” Of House To Overturn Certified Elections And Unseat Any Member Of Congress

Just a few months ago, Leftist America was in an uproar about Trump voters hoping that Congress would object to certain certified election results in order to call for investigations into specific instances of suspected election fraud. Just to reassure the American people that their election was free and fair.

Conservatives were called “insurrectionists” and “anti-democracy” for daring to question an election result that had already been certified, even though there are constitutional processes for that kind of thing.

But now the House Administration Committee is investigating the very narrow victory of Mariannette Miller-Meeks in an Iowa Congressional election. Nancy Pelosi and other House Democrats have been asked by the losing Democrat candidate, Rita Hart, to simply overturn the results of her election, which were already recounted and certified by a bipartisan election committee.

And all the Americans who were called “anti-democracic” or “insurrectionists” for calling for investigations into suspected fraud in the presidential election are rightly frustrated at the blatant hypocrisy. Apparently, it’s OK to investigate and overturn certified election results if the Democrat candidate loses, but if the Republican candidate loses then any concerns are dismissed as unfounded and any mention of investigation or overturning certified results is tantamount to insurrection.

In response to criticism about her obvious hypocrisy, Nancy Pelosi made a statement that it is her “right as Speaker” of the House to unseat any Congressperson, even if their election results were certified.

She explains that really, we should be grateful to her because she could have just refused to seat the duly-elected Congresswoman Miller-Meeks even though she was the certified winner of her Congressional election. Pelosi could have just refused to allow her into Congress, despite being elected by the citizens of Iowa.

“If I wanted to be unfair, I wouldn’t have seated the Republican from Iowa because that was my right on the opening day. I would have just said, you’re not seated, and that would have been my right as Speaker to do so.”

But instead, she explains that she graciously allowed the duly-elected Congresswoman to be seated in Congress and now she’s just being “fair” in considering overturning the certified election results to instead seat Hart.

She previously explained,

“Well, it was six votes. It was six votes and our candidate Rita Hart, the Democratic candidate, asked for this process to begin.”

Because apparently, if you only win by 6 votes, then it doesn’t matter that your results were recounted and then certified by a bipartisan election committee. And apparently it’s a big deal that their Democrat candidate asked for the investigation and overturning process to begin.

But didn’t the Republican presidential candidate, multiple down-ballot Republican candidates, and millions of Americans ask for the investigation and overturning process to begin in order to ensure and confirm that we had a free and fair election? So does it just not matter when it’s Republican candidates and voters? Only when it’s Democrat candidates and voters?

So really, what she’s saying is that our elections don’t matter. It doesn’t really matter who the American citizens elect because she can just decide who she wants to seat in Congress. If she’s feeling extra generous (or if it benefits her political party), she’ll seat the representatives who were elected by the American people and certified as the winners. But if she decides that she actually knows better than the American people, then elections don’t really matter and she’ll just seat whomever she decides is best, regardless of who the people actually elected.

That, ladies and gentlemen, is not democracy.

That’s dictatorship.
