It is really interesting to watch just how bent out of shape people are getting about Elon Musk buying and then changing Twitter. These same people had no problem with billionaire Jeff Bezos buying the Washington post or billionaire Laurene Powell Jobs buying The Atlantic. But billionaire Elon Musk has the audacity to buy Twitter and they’re all melting down about it. This guy is an incredibly successful businessman. He clearly knows the strategies for success in building and growing a company because he’s done it several times and amassed a humongous fortune in the process.
Check out Geraldo Rivera being very upset about how Elon Musk has chosen to control the company he now owns. My favorite is the bit about “gut-wrenching efficiency.” How DARE he be efficient!
Elon Musk has declared All-Out war on his former staff. At 9am Pacific time, Massive Layoffs go into affect at Twitter. With no formal notice and gut-wrenching efficiency, Musk and his inner circle have eliminated about half of its pre-Elon workforce. 3,700 Twitter jobs gone.

When Musk came into Twitter and started trimming the fat, that’s because there was fat that needed to be trimmed. Y’all, they had “days of rest” built into their work schedules. For the rest of the world, that’s just the weekend, and a lot of people use that time to work a second job to make ends meet. And there was apparently an entire team for “Accessibility Experience Team,” which was also eliminated.
🤣🤣🤣 These snowflakes got “days of rest” planned into their work schedule!? For the rest of the working world, your weekend is your “days of rest.” In this economy, some people even use their “days of rest” to work a second job just to make ends meet. pic.twitter.com/EQYfnvCZ2m

I am officially no longer the Engineering Manager for the Accessibility Experience Team at Twitter. I have words. 🧵

He also had the audacity to give employees an ultimatum of creating and implementing a new verification system by November 7th or get fired. People were big mad that he dared to expect his employees to work and meet tough deadlines or face serious consequences.
Interestingly, Elon JUST tweeted the following on the topic of layoffs.
Regarding Twitter’s reduction in force, unfortunately there is no choice when the company is losing over $4M/day.

Everyone exited was offered 3 months of severance, which is 50% more than legally required.

“This is just another example of how Elon Musk is making poor decisions for his company. Twitter is losing money hand over fist, and he’s only making things worse by cutting staff.”
This was the first reply to Elon’s tweet and just reading it reduced my IQ. That people who think this way somehow manage to function in our society is truly a measure of how good we have it.
