WATCH: John Durham to review the origins of the FBI’s Russia probe
Chris “Tingles” Matthews appears to be in full blown panic mode. He– like many other notable Democrats– is having a difficult time believing that the Mueller report essentially exonerated President Trump.
No collusion, no obstruction, no problem?
Because of the conclusion, Democrats are zeroing in on Attorney General William Barr, accusing him of residing in Trump’s pocket. How dare he launch an investigation into the origins of the Russia witch hunt!
Matthews went a step further and accused Barr of attempting to “destroy the government.”
This took place during Monday’s interview with Rep. Joaquin Castro.
“It’s an embarrassment to have an attorney general who looks like a Roy Cohn, a guy who will do anything to defend the president and now has become his hitman,” Matthews said.
“Not only will he play defense, he’s out to destroy the government, the FBI, everything in order to cover the tracks of the president,” Matthews declared. “What do you make of this guy and how can you stop Barr from doing what he’s out to do now, destroy the FBI?”
Barr is desperately trying to cover the tracks of the president? What part of “no collusion, no obstruction” doesn’t Matthews understand? If anything, it’s more like “Democrats are doing everything in their power to hold on to a PROVEN lie.”
Castro agreed, calling Barr the president’s “fixer” and “protector.” He also claimed that Barr was launching the probe on the origins of the Russia investigation to “chill” anyone who looks into alleged wrongdoing by Trump and refuted Barr’s claim that “spying” took place during the 2016 election and that it was simply an “investigation.”
Desperation. This is clearly what it looks like.
