Ivanka Trump Was Once Asked To Be ‘The Bachelorette’

Hannah Bleau

I’m by NO means a Bachelor or Bachelorette super fan. I don’t throw viewing parties. I don’t devote my life the show. I don’t try to buy tickets to “After the Final Rose.” It’s all just a huge trashy spectacle, and I’m unfortunately into it.

I’m not proud of it. Trust me. And in my defense, I’ve missed the last two weeks because hockey was on. I feel like that redeems me a bit.

ALL THAT BEING SAID, I have some news. Ivanka Trump could’ve been “The Bachelorette” FOR REAL.

Before she was married to Jared Kushner, the first daughter, 37, was apparently ABC’s first choice to be “The Bachelorette” in the early 2000s

For the record, I was too young to watch the show in the early 2000s, but STILL. Imagine if that happened! I can’t help but wonder how that would have affected Trump’s presidential bid, ya know?

In a 2007 interview with PEOPLE Magazine, which resurfaced this week, Ivanka revealed she was offered the coveted spot as ABC’s most wanted woman.

“I’ve been offered tons of shows, (including) ‘The Bachelorette,’” Ivanka revealed after she was asked if she enjoyed working in television. “I’m flattered, but that in no way furthers my objective of being a great real estate developer.”

Smart move. I’m glad she said no. It totally would’ve damaged her classy image. Kissing 100 guys and crying on national TV tends to tarnish the ol’ reputation a bit.

Just had to share that unimportant news nugget. As you were!
