Toronto Suspect Identified As 25-Year-Old Alek Minassian

Ten people are dead and 15 more injured in the aftermath of the terror in Toronto. The suspect who plowed a van into pedestrians has been identified as 25-year-old Alek Minassian. And no. Authorities are NOT ruling out terrorism.

The vehicle was driven by Alek Minassian, 25, of Richmond Hill, north of Toronto, police said. Minassian allegedly drove into dozens of people intentionally, killing 10 and injuring 15 others.

“We don’t rule out anything,” Toronto Police Service Chief Mark Saunders said in a Monday evening news conference. “We need to follow what we have.

All witness accounts I’ve heard have described the incident as looking extremely intentional.

“He started going down on the sidewalk and crumbling down people one by one,” one witness said. “He just destroyed so many people’s lives. Every single thing that got in his way.”

Sources say alleged driver of rental van in Toronto attack is Alek Minassian. 25-year-old man is from Richmond Hill, Ontario, north of Toronto. According to an online profile, he's a student at Seneca College.
