Kate Winslet Doesn’t Want To Talk About How Much Of A Hypocrite She Is…. ThankYouVeryMuch

Kate Winslet has been SO BRAVE AND SO STRONG about the Harvey Weinstein situation. She released a statement about how “disgraceful and appalling,” he is, and gave herself a few pats on the back by telling everyone that she REFUSED to thank him in her Academy Awards speech whens he won the 2009 Oscar for Best Actress.

She’s a FEMINIST HERO, that one!

She’s currently promoting her new movie, Wonder Wheel.

Interestingly enough, the movie is directed by notorious pervert Woody Allen (you know, the one with the child-bride daughter-wife) … but this FEMINIST HERO  reeeeally doesn’t want you to call her out on that.

Anyway…

Kate recently did an interview with Variety, and AS THEY SHOULD, they asked her a bit about working with a PERVERT when she had just been so vocal about another.

Her answer makes me want to kick her in the shins.

There’s been a discussion about actors in Woody Allen’s movies as a result of the allegations against him. Did that factor in your decision to star in his new film?

 

Um. [Winslet narrates her own silence.] “She pauses.” It’s just a difficult discussion. I’d rather respectfully not enter it today.

Are. You. Kidding. Me.

If that doesn’t say EVERYTHING you need to know about Kate Winslet, I don’t know what does.

They also asked her about her comments to the NYT that working with Woody was “an extraordinary working experience.”

There was criticism on social media of an interview you gave to The New York Times, where you said Allen provided “an extraordinary working experience.”

 

I don’t read how people respond to things. We’re always as actors going to say the wrong thing. I think it’s better to respectfully step away from the discussion.

Translation: I have no interest in condemning sexual predators. Not in the slightest. It’s just popular to jump on the We-Hate-Weinstein train, so I did. Woody is still Kosher, ok? I’m going to respectfully go on not caring. Thanks.

Wonder Wheel is obviously Oscar bait (it comes out in December) so maybe she’s waiting to make her GRAND statement by not thanking Woody during her Oscar speech.
