Mickey Mouse Nonsense

I’m not making this up.

A clever and competent reader sent me a newsflash about a new horrific criminal activity going on in Ohio.  According to this,  a bunch of people in Toledo are getting parking tickets for parking in their own driveways.  Mayor Carty Finkbeiner, who is a Democrat (although I realize that goes without saying), has deputized city workers and armed them with $25 tickets, so that they can prowl the city in search of these deviant, corrupt, and dangerous criminals who DARE to have gravel driveways, clearly endangering the lives of everyone around them.

Finkbeiner isn’t a fan of gravel, apparently.  You wanna live in Toledo?  You gotta get paved.  It’s the law.  The problem with that law, though, is that it’s retarded.  And only NOW being enforced.  People who’ve lived in the same house for decades, with the same gravel driveways, are now being ticketed for the first time ever. 

Now lest you think that this is all some silly administrative goof-up that will quickly be reversed and taken care of, just listen to what Mayor Finkbeiner had to say about it: 

“Every law in the city should be enforced and I will defer to the director over the media, that’s for dag-gone sure. I will not second guess her because more times then not she’s right and the citizens that are criticizing her are not right.”

Thankfully, City Councilman Michael Collins (I), has pledged that he’s going to rescind the tickets.  He said, “If we have time for this Mickey Mouse nonsense something is radically wrong with that.”

It’s a good thing someone in Toledo government has an Actual Brain, that’s for dag-gone sure.
