Umm…Y’all? Did Sunny Hostin Just Admit To Doing Something Illegal On National TV?

This seems super sus.

Here’s the key part of the exchange:

HOSTIN: I had trouble actually voting for him absentee ballot today and that made me very concerned. It’s the first time.

JOY BEHAR: Why? What Happened?

HOSTIN: I was told to put it in the orange bag on the floor and the orange bag to me looked like a Target bag or something. And I said, “Isn’t there a formal election box that says absentee ballots or something like that?” And then she said, “let me check.” And then found it.

BEHAR: Wow.

HOSTIN: So, that concerned me. So, he wanted to make sure that he voted.

Hostin’s son apparently attends Harvard. So let’s just unpack and untangle this, shall we?

If Sunny was just DROPPING OFF her son’s ballot, that’s fine. You can have someone pick up and also turn in your ballot. But the issue here is that Sunny has recently talked about the fact that her kid is at Harvard. She lives in Westchester County in NY. There was no scheduled holiday or break at Harvard on election day, so presumably he was attending classes in MA that day.

In order to cast an absentee ballot legally in NY, you have to make your choices for each office, fold the ballot and put it in the Security Envelope, which has a spot for you to sign and date it, seal it, and then put THAT envelope into the Return Envelope. Then you seal THAT envelope and submit it.

So….in what scenario would he have done all that and NOT just submitted it or mailed it on his own? Explain that one to me. Because if she filled it out OR if she signed the security envelope, that’s not OK, and it’s potentially not even legal.

I kinda feel like maybe this should be investigated. Not because it’d make any difference to the outcome in NY, but because it could prove that Sunny Hostin isn’t just a horrible terrible awful person, but that she’s potentially guilty of a crime as well.
