November 2, 2022Biden doesn’t usually have any idea what’s going on, and today’s speech was no different. Talking about electric cars, Joe Biden made a statement that needs some major clarification. He said,
“A lightning storm takes out all the electricity in the house, guess what? You can plug your car into the house and make it light up. You think I’m joking.”
No, Joe, we don’t think you’re joking. We just think you have no idea what you’re talking about.
What I suspect he’s probably referring to is the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning, which Ford has marketed as capable of being used basically as a generator. But for Biden to say that you can plug in your electric car and power your house is a gross and misleading oversimplification. So grossly oversimplified and so misleading that it’s getting pretty close to simply being another one of his lies.
First of all, he makes it seem like this can happen with electric cars generally, but that’s not true. You have to purchase the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning. And not just the $42K base model (which would probably be closer to $50K with inflation and dealer markups). You have to pay extra for the extended range model that has a “dual onboard charger system that can cram electrons into the (larger) battery pack at a rate of 19.2 kW. (Ford claims this system is an industry first.)”
On top of that, you have to outfit your house with the infrastructure, which includes “an 80-amp Ford Charge Station Pro bi-directional charger.” Just having the truck doesn’t mean it can be used as a generator for your house.
But Biden doesn’t care to tell you all that because that makes it seem far less feasible, which in turn means it can’t be used to glamorize electric vehicles. But by misleading an uninformed public into thinking electric cars can be used as generators to power their houses, it makes their green energy agenda and electric car push. But I doubt Biden even knows what he’s doing. They probably showed him a commercial for the Ford Lightning and this is what his senile brain gathered.
