Biden Mistakenly Thinks Americans Want “Assault Rifles And High-Capacity Magazines” To Hunt Deer

Biden just announced sweeping and highly controversial gun control laws. Here’s a clip of what he said.

Here’s the thing, though. People don’t actually need “assault weapons and high-capacity magazines” for deer hunting. And no, they don’t need “20 bullets” because they are a “terrible shot” and can’t hit the deer in one. In fact, chances are that the kind of people who have assault rifles and high-capacity magazines are actually REALLY good shots. It’s just really fortuitous that such weapons can also be used to sustain one’s family during things like, say, rampant food shortages, historic inflation, or draconian lockdowns. But no, it’s not about needing to penetrate the kevlar vests of a deer or needing 20 bullets to make the shot.

No, they need them to ensure they can protect their families from increasingly authoritarian governments who move to restrict their freedoms and force them to do or accept things against their will. Hypothetically, perhaps to penetrate the kevlar vest of the new gestapo agents who come to rip you from your home for wrongthink. Drag your children from your home because you deign to espouse the “wrong” opinions.” Seize your property because The Party decided they wanted it. Imprison you in your home for a virus with a 99% survival rate, multiple vaccines, and multiple treatment options.

Do you think that the CCP could lock 50,000,000 citizens in their homes until they are starving to death in their apartments or jumping off their high-rise balconies to avoid the slow starvation if those 50,000,000 people had and exercised their right to keep and bear arms?

Do you think that Australia could have forced people into their homes for months on end, or forcibly removed them from their homes to be relocated to quarantine camps if Australians had and exercised the right to keep and bear arms?

Hey, the Australians and CCP and others like them might have tried it anyway, and they might have even succeeded. But they would have suffered heavy casualties when their people fought back. It would have been a bloodbath, and they would have known it would be, and that might have been enough of a deterrent for them to rethink their course of action because it might not have been considered worth it. But there was no deterrent. Instead, those people were and still are defenseless. Their governments can force them to do anything they want because the people have no way to fight back. No way to say no. No way to keep power-hungry, out-of-control leaders in check. No means of deterring authoritarian dictatorship. No way to defend their families, home, property, or life against people who want to force them to do or accept things against their will.

And listen. People cheering for the Ukrainian resistance while simultaneously cheering for Biden’s domestic gun control plans fundamentally do not understand either issue and thus are contributing to the problem. We helped to arm the people of Ukraine so they could more effectively defend themselves against those who sought to take away their freedom? The reason we had to arm them for this conflict was because they had previously been stripped of their arms. Imagine not being able to see the parallel here.

THAT is why people need assault weapons and high-capacity magazines. It’s just more socially acceptable for people to talk about the hunting capabilities.
