There’s not a whole lot of unanimity these days. But switching our clocks seems to be something that brought everyone together. The Senate unanimously approved S.623: Sunshine Protection Act, a bill which makes Daylight Saving Time permanent. We are currently in Daylight Saving Time, so the time to which your clock is set now is the time it would remain permanently. No more falling back or springing forward an hour.

I’m not sure exactly how I feel about it. Honestly, my biggest complaint was that people still felt obligated to remind me to turn my clocks backward or forward.
People, it’s 2022. Almost everyone uses phones now. And the phones all change automatically. So do our fancy watches that sync with our fancy phones. Not a whole lot of people these days are manually setting their alarm clocks back or turning them forward in order to wake up on time. Sure, I have to set my cuckoo clock and my kitchen appliance clocks, but I can do that after my phone wakes me up at the proper time because it changed automatically. I believe that the correct terminology should have been, “Don’t forget that you will lose/gain an hour of sleep tonight.” But that seems kind of petty, so I always just smile and nod.
There are some who are warning that people won’t like this change as much as they might think.
We’ll live to regret this https://t.co/jgnMoUDfVs

Everyone thought this was a great idea in the 70s then we tried it and people hated it. https://t.co/gWJlrZyjBM

The bill still has to pass the House, then it would go to President Biden for his signature.
