George Floyd’s death has become HIGHLY politicized in the news, on social media, at our jobs, and in our homes. His death will not be known as the tipping point that brought about bipartisan change.
Instead, George Floyd’s death will go down as the death that burned American cities, saw countless racist acts committed against police officers, and hundreds die.
That’s ok right because George Floyd had what 4-6 funerals, and don’t forget that he was laid to rest in a golden casket.
As you look at the video a couple of things are clear like the fact that George Floyd was higher than Elton John in the ’80s and the fact that George Floyd was acting emotional and irrational from the start. At the same time, the police officers were calm (at least for the majority of the stop).
The video is hard to watch in its entirety, but you must do to make an informed decision.
I am convinced that conservatives will see the bodycam footage to be contradictory to the cell phone footage that came out. Most conservatives will argue that they charged the officers above what they could get a conviction for and that this was likely done on purpose.
*Remember that the Democrats run the justice system in Minneapolis*
What purpose would it serve to charge these officers a more substantial charge with no possibility of conviction? Protests, lockdowns, riots, etc.
Democrats don’t want justice for George Floyd’s death. They want power and control, and they see Floyd’s death as a path to both.
When the left sees the video, it will confirm their desires of this being police sanctioned murder. They will see Floyd’s repeated cries for his mother that died two years before his arrest. They will see Floyd begging not to get shot by the officers before he even got out of the car. They will hear Floyd die with the officer’s knee on his neck.
This will be enough to get the conviction in public court regardless of the facts.
It doesn’t matter that Floyd was claiming he couldn’t breathe before he was ever on the ground. Nor does it matter that he was clearly intoxicated, which validates the finding in the toxicology report and the autopsy that said he died from a heart attack.
None of this matters because the opportunities lie with the false narrative they have created and not the truth.
If the left had let the country come together over George Floyd’s death, real reform could have happened, but they couldn’t let a good crisis go to waste.
