Conservative Journalist Andy Ngo Beat Up by Antifa in Portland

Andy Ngo is a gay, Asian, Portland-based journalist and editor at Quillette.  I’ve been following Ngo on Twitter for awhile now, and I really like his work.

This weekend, Ngo attended an Antifa event in Portland.  Before the event, he expressed concern that physical confrontations might occur:

As it turns out, Ngo was right to be nervous, as he was milkshaked and attacked at the event.

You’d think we could all agree that violence is not the answer, and attacking journalists – even journalists you disagree with – is bad.  Unfortunately, that is not the world we live in.

Of course, the response from many left-wing journalists is as gross as you’d imagine, from tacitly praising the attack on Ngo to basically saying he deserved it:

Possibly the worst take came from Huffington Post’s Christopher Mathias in a now-deleted tweet:

To be clear, Mathias is calling Ngo a snowflake for getting upset at the physical, violent response to his use of words.  These people are the worst.

Of course, the Portland police did little to help the situation.

This isn’t the first time Antifa has attacked Ngo.

Ngo claimed to have been attacked while at the gym on May 7 by a man he recognized from the Antifa rallies.  A week earlier, he was attacked with mace while covering one of the rallies.

In mid-November 2018, Ngo was assaulted by members of Antifa at a #HimToo rally, which was designed to raise awareness of male victims of sexual assault and men who are falsely accused of sexual assault.  Antifa showed up and became violent.  Ngo was “verbally berated and physically accosted,” reported The Daily Wire’s Amanda Presigiacomo.  Ngo’s camera equipment was also covered in silly string.  Ngo said police did nothing during that assault.

In early December, Ngo wrote at the Wire that he received death threats while attending another rally.  He said he was pushed and verbally berated there as well.  In each instance, other members filmed the attack.

But please, continue telling me how peaceful and tolerant Antifa is.

Nope.  So far Twitter has banned neither Antifa itself nor those condoning Antifa’s use of violence.

Nailed it.  There’s totally no double standard here….
