John McCain’s OTHER Daughter Finally Comes Forward with Response to Trump

This might come as a shock to people who casually wade in politics, but John McCain has more than one daughter. I know, I know. We only ever see Meghan McCain on the news. She’s obviously the most vocal of his children, and she has a huge platform to be vocal (“The View,” hello).

Now hold on to that thought.

Everyone is in a tizzy over President Trump’s recent remarks on John McCain.

In a five-minute diatribe during an appearance at a General Dynamics tank factory in Lima, Ohio, Trump argued that McCain, a lifelong Pentagon booster and former prisoner of war in Vietnam, “didn’t get the job done” for veterans while also grousing that he did not receive proper gratitude for McCain’s funeral last September.

“I gave him the kind of funeral he wanted, which as president I had to approve,” Trump said inaccurately, an apparent reference to allowing the use of military transport to carry McCain’s body to Washington. “I don’t care about this, I didn’t get a thank-you, that’s okay. We sent him on the way. But I wasn’t a fan of John McCain.”

He added, “I have to be honest, I never liked him much. Hasn’t been for me. I’ve really, probably, never will.”

Those remarks rubbed a lot of people the wrong way.

“I do not appreciate his tweets,” Sen. Joni Ernst said. “John McCain is a dear friend of mine. So, no I don’t agree with President Trump and he does need to stop.”

“I don’t like when [the president] says things about my friend,” Sen. Lindsey Graham said.

“I think the president’s comments about Sen. McCain hurt him more than they hurt the legacy of Sen. McCain. I’m going to try to continue to help the president,” he continued.

“I don’t like when he says things about my friend John McCain. The best thing that can happen, I think, for all of us, is to move forward,” he added.

We also heard from one unexpected person: John McCain’s other daughter.

From a family standpoint, I understand. It would suck to have people diss your father like that. However, John McCain lived his life in the public arena, and he made a lot of mistakes. I don’t think it’s fair or reasonable to expect everyone to forget that.

I’m no fan of John McCain and never will be, but I don’t see the point in bringing him up unless it’s relevant to the conversation. Just my two cents.
