Disaster For ‘The Conners’: LOOOOOOOTS Of Drama!

This speaks volumes.

“The Conners” has not been performing as well “Roseanne.” It’s actually pretty sucky. It fell again this week.

This Is Us and The Conners both hit their lowest adults 18-49 ratings ever on Tuesday, Nov. 13 — but were also the two top scripted shows of the night.

The Conners fell 0.3 from its last outing to a season-low 1.5 in the 18-49 demo.

On top of that, ABC only added one episodes, which doesn’t bring the show CLOSE to one full season.

It’s so bad that there’s already talks of pay cuts.

With the sitcom’s ratings dropping to 7 million, John Goodman and Laurie Metcalf “are too expensive to keep around,” a source told Straight Shuter. “They both earn $375,000 an episode, a number that was negotiated before the Roseanne scandal.”

According to the source, ABC has ordered only one extra episode to be added to the 10 it already contracted for this season — well below the 22 episodes that would been needed for The Conners to make it through the end of the current TV season.

“The writing is already on the wall,” said a TV insider.

Channing Dungey, the ABC Entertainment president who made the bold decision to yank Roseanne after its star made a racist tweet, has resigned her post.

Dungey will be replaced by Karey Burke, the current head of programming at Freeform, ABC’s sister cable network.

“I’m incredibly proud of what the team and I have accomplished over the years, and all the meaningful and impactful programming we’ve developed,” Dungey said in a statement. “This job has been the highlight of my career. While I’ve loved every moment and knew I could call ABC home for many years to come, I’m excited to tackle new challenges.”

Are we really supposed to think that this development has nothing to do with the crapstorm that’s going down due to her controversial decision?

Who would’ve guessed that a show beloved for everything that IS Roseanne is failing to thrive without Roseanne. WHO WOULD’VE THOUGHT.
