UPDATES On Michael Avenatti’s Domestic Violence Arrest

As I mentioned earlier, Michael Avenatti was arrested on a Domestic Violence charge.

According to TMZ:

Michael Avenatti, who became famous for representing Stormy Daniels in her battle with President Trump, has been arrested for felony domestic violence … law enforcement sources tell TMZ.

Our law enforcement sources say Avenatti was arrested Wednesday after his estranged wife filed a felony DV report. We’re told her face was “swollen and bruised.”

We are now being told the victim was NOT his wife.

TMZ initially reported that Michale Avenatti was arrested for an incident involving his estranged wife. The story’s been updated to remove reference of wife — now just says “a woman.” (No correction note)

I spoke with Avenatti’s wife on the phone. “I haven’t see Michael in months. It’s a complete fabrication,” she said. “Bruises on my face? It is insanity. He wouldn’t hit anybody. Especially a woman. He’s got two daughters.”

The Vermont Democratic Party cancelled Michael Avenatti’s Friday and Saturday appearances in Vermont in the wake of his arrest and will be refunding all ticket sales (via @bonkapp)

HOWEVER – It is important to note that this doesn’t mean the incident didn’t HAPPEN. It means it didn’t happen TO HIS WIFE.

We can confirm that today LAPD Detectives arrested Michael Avenatti on suspicion of domestic violence. This is an ongoing investigation and we will provide more details as they become available.

Update: We can confirm that Michael Avenatti (DOB: 02-16-71) was booked this afternoon on a felony domestic violence charge (273.5 PC). His bail is set at $50,000.
