More Yale Freshmen Identify As LGBTQ Than As Conservative

I’m still convinced that half of the young people out there who identify as part of the LGBT community are just doing it because it’s the “cool” thing to do right now. It’s trendy, ya know? Like, you know how rompers are back in and will inevitably go out of style? Same thing.

So many of them are identifying as an ally because it makes them feel cool, edgy and non-mainstream. Need proof ? Here you go.

According to a new survey, the number of Yale freshmen who consider themselves part of the LGBTQ community outnumber those who identify as conservative.

The freshman class has 1,578 students. There were 864 respondents in the survey. Of those, 9 percent said they were “somewhat conservative” and a paltry 1 percent said they considered themselves “very conservative.”

As for LGBTQ students, ‘nearly 5 percent [of respondents] identify as gay and just over 9 percent as bisexual or transsexual.

‘Three percent opted not to answer, and the remaining 8 percent identified as asexual, ace spectrum or questioning their sexual orientation.’

Eight percent identified as asexual? Are you kiddin’ me?

Combined, there are more LGBTQ freshmen at Yale than there are Protestant students (16 per cent) or Catholics (15 per cent).

Oh. And in general, libs outnumber conservatives. Three-fourths of freshman identify as “liberal.” And that’s BEFORE the main brainwashing begins. *shudders*
