New York’s Republican Rep. Chris Collins surrendered to the FBI last week. He was arrested on insider trading charges, which is disappointing but not surprising. Like I’ve said before. MANY of our lawmakers operate this way. Some are just better at getting away with it.
Because of all that, he decided to suspend his re-election campaign.
He said it’s in the best interest of the Republican Party.
“Democrats are laser focused on taking back the House, electing Nancy Pelosi Speaker and then launching impeachment proceedings against President Trump,” Collins said in a statement. “They would like nothing more than to elect an ‘Impeach Trump’ Democrat in this District, which is something that neither our country or my party can afford.”

A better look:
It’s probably the right move. We can’t afford him and his baggage, nor do we WANT it.
