Earlier this week, Trump addressed the raging California wildfires in a tweet that blamed “bad environmental laws” for the problem.
California wildfires are being magnified & made so much worse by the bad environmental laws which aren’t allowing massive amounts of readily available water to be properly utilized. It is being diverted into the Pacific Ocean. Must also tree clear to stop fire from spreading!

He’s absolutely right – but that didn’t stop INSUFFERABLE lil’ Schiff from puffing his chest out and dropping this little nugget:
You’ve been in office for 18 LONG months and you still don’t have a science adviser, so allow me to help.
Environmental protections have nothing to do with the wildfires in CA. Climate change does.
We’re not going to let you use fires as an excuse to clear-cut our forests. https://t.co/R5IdRmPpO7
— Adam Schiff (@RepAdamSchiff) August 7, 2018
Schiiiiff… who said ANYTHING about “clear cutting” forests? We NEED to be clearing out dead trees, or else forests turn into inevitable DEATH TRAPS.
I know you want to make Trump out to be ENVIRONMENTAL SATAN and all.. but this is just pathetic.
The Wall Street Journal’s Kimberley Strassel checked him… HARD.
Allow me to help YOU, Mr. Schiff. Here is a link to December USDA report showing a record 129 million dead trees in California, citing forest mismanagement for fires. Your own California state fire office signed on to it. https://t.co/kzGQclSpul https://t.co/vq3h4SkkxJ

DAAAAAAMN.
According to the report:
“The USDA Forest Service today announced that an additional 27 million trees, mostly conifers, died throughout California since November 2016, bringing the total number of trees that have died due to drought and bark beetles to a historic 129 million on 8.9 million acres,” a news release from December 2017 read.
“The dead trees continue to pose a hazard to people and critical infrastructure, mostly centered in the central and southern Sierra Nevada region of the state,” the statement read.
Randy Moore of the USDA Forest Service was quoted in the news release saying the “USDAForest Service will continue to focus on mitigating hazard trees and thinning overly dense forests so they are healthier and better able to survive stressors like this in the future.”
So yes – California’s pseudo-environmental BULL SH*T has burned the state down. Good for you, libs. You’re LITERALLY killing it.
The responses are BRUTAL:
The California government refused to remove the many trees that died years ago from drought. They knew bark beetles were turning those dead trees into wildfire kindling & didn’t care- because they knew that the Feds would give CA gov. more money to waste on illegal sanctuaries.

Adam doesn’t bother reading any of those reports he’s too busy trying to implicate the president doing something wrong! So he can be on TV.

Forest management means cutting the large swaths of extremely flammable, dead trees and brush & having occasional controlled burns to prevent an out of control, deadly inferno. CA environmental policy prohibits common sense forestry.

I might be wrong but I seem to remember the EPA fighting GWB when he wanted to take out the dead underbrush.
— Elizabeth Scalia (@TheAnchoress) August 7, 2018
Yup, used to live in Monterey, CA with an entire forest of 100ft plus dead pine trees right behind my backyard. Completely dead, firetrap waiting to happen, protected by the state. 2 of them shattered in high winds almost killed 2 of my kids, no matter protected by the state…

Is @AdamSchiffCA ever right about anything? How is he still in office?!
— Christopher pruitt (@Cgp1976) August 8, 2018
Because you don’t have to be “right” about anything to be elected into office in California… in fact, you just have to be LEFT.
Now Schiff, why don’t you use the MASSIVE RAKE you just stepped on to clear out some of that kindling?
