Here’s A Quick Lesson On The REALITY Of The NRA’s Financial Influence

I’m sick and tired of hearing every emotional liberal on the internet say that the NRA needs to stop using its BLOOD MONEY to influence politicians.

“The NRA is killing our kids!”

“Blood is on the NRA’s hands!”

“Republican politicians are controlled by the NRA’s donations!”

False, false, FALSE.

I have numbers. I double dog dare a liberal to argue with the facts.

The NRA has spent $200 million on political activities in the last 20 years. That might sound like a big number, but take a second and compare that to the amount of money unions have donated (to MOSTLY Democrats). We’re talking $1.7 billion in 2016 ALONE.

Organized labor spent a record $1.7 billion on politics and lobbying during the 2016 election cycle, with the vast majority of money coming from member dues and supporting Democrats.

The National Institute for Labor Relations Research (NILRR), a nonprofit union watchdog, found that unions spent $1.713 billion on political activities and lobbying. The watchdog group analyzed federal labor filings that disclose how much unions spend on political activities at the federal, state, and local level, as well as Federal Election Commission records collected by OpenSecrets.com. Stan Greer, the researcher behind the study, said 75 percent of the money spent on politics came from union treasuries rather than campaign PACs or other independent union-backed political operations.

Hm. Funny that Democrats don’t seem to have a problem with that.

The main point? In comparison, the NRA’s dough is chump change.

And can we talk about hypocrisy for a second? Planned Parenthood and its affiliates spend millions and millions of dollars, supporting Democratic candidates and lobbying for left-wing causes. So while the left cries, “THE NRA IS KILLING CHILDREN,” they happily support an organization that ACTUALLY KILLS CHILDREN.

How do they reconcile that?

It begs the question: Why do liberals TRULY fear the NRA? I’ll tell you why. Because it’s an organization truly saturated by support from real American people. Me. You. Your neighbor Linda. You plumber Keith. Your dog walker Bruce. Your Uncle Larry. That retail worker named Claire. It’s made up of everyday, law-abiding patriotic Americans. We’re who they fear most.

I love how Rush Limbaugh described this.

The NRA is so widely misunderstood. The NRA is not the among the biggest donors in American politics. They donate a lot, but they’re not among the biggest. That’s not their power.

That’s not why the left so fears them. The reason the left fears them is that they have an unbreakable bond and connection with their members and their members are deep into the American culture and society all over this country. The NRA has deep connections with the American people. That is the threat posed by the NRA.

Now, the media would love you to believe the threat posed by the NRA is that they totally solely support Republicans and that they want anybody who wants one to have as many guns as they want. And then they want you to believe the NRA is not opposed to anybody getting guns and that the NRA is not opposed to anybody doing whatever they want to do with guns. That the NRA will defend anything that happens with a gun in order to protect the Second Amendment. This is in a nutshell the media message. And it’s disguised as news.

It’s not the NRA’s message. It’s not who they are. It’s not what they are. And it is nowhere close to what the NRA believes, teaches, practices, endorses, recommends. There is literally so much fake news today that it is impossible for an average citizen who is not devoted to analyzing it to pick it out and identify it. It simply is not possible.

Preach. It.

This isn’t about the NRA. This is about you. The left fears you. It fears your influence.
