How The HELL Can This Guy Plead Not Guilty? HOW?! He Broke SIX Ribs!

As we mentioned earlier this week, Rand Paul sustained life-threatening injuries after being attacked by his batsh*t neighbor.

It later turned out that this may have happened over a LANDSCAPING DISPUTE.

While the attacker is a registered Democrat, many are saying the attack was NOT politically motivated, and in fact just some sort of gardening brawl…

Cuz you know… who HASN’T viciously attacked a neighbor over a landscaping argument?

Anyway… the dude plead not guilty… because um… I dunno why.

According to this:

U.S. Sen. Rand Paul’s long-time neighbor pleaded not guilty on Thursday to charges that he assaulted the Kentucky Republican while he was mowing his lawn.

Rene Boucher only spoke to reply ‘yes sir’ to a judge during a brief arraignment.

He showed no emotion and kept his head down. Boucher faces up to a year in jail if convicted of fourth-degree assault.

Paul, who was not at the hearing, wrote on Twitter on Wednesday that he suffered six broken ribs and has excess fluid around his lungs.

THAT’S NO SMALL DEAL, FOLKS.

‘I appreciate all of the support from everyone. A medical update: final report indicates six broken ribs & new X-ray shows a pleural effusion,’ Paul tweeted.

The injuries have sidelined Paul from the Senate as he recovers at his home.

Warren County District Judge Brent Potter set a pre-trial court date for November 30.

Boucher has been ordered to stay away from Paul and the senator’s family.

Boucher’s attorney has called the situation ‘a very regrettable dispute’ that was ‘trivial’.

Really? F’real?!

“Trivial disputes” don’t often end in six broken ribs and a pleural effusion…. maybe that’s a registered Democrat thing?

Doug Stafford, a senior advisor to the senator, issued a statement on Thursday afternoon after Boucher’s court session calling it a ‘violent attack by a disturbed person.’

‘Last week Senator Paul was vigorously assaulted by someone in his neighborhood,’ the statement reads.

‘This is a serious criminal matter involving serious injury, and is being handled by local and federal authorities. As to reports of a longstanding dispute with the attacker, the Pauls have had no conversations with him in many years.

‘The first ‘conversation’ with the attacker came after Sen. Paul’s ribs were broken. This was not a fight, it was a blindside, violent attack by a disturbed person.

‘Anyone claiming otherwise is simply uninformed or seeking media attention.’

Attorney Matthew Baker claims the incident between the two was not politically motivated.
‘It has nothing to do with politics… nothing,’ Baker told WHAS.

‘It has zero to do with Democrat or Republican, liberal or conservative, anything along those lines.
‘It has to do with a disagreement between two neighbors…’

Boucher was first arrested and charged with one count of fourth-degree assault of the Republican congressman on November 5th before being released the next day on a $7,500 bond.

Paul and Boucher have been neighbors for 17 years in the gated community.

Rob Porter, a close friend of the lawmaker, said this week that Paul doesn’t know why he was attacked.
