I fly a lot – being in a long distance relationship will do that – and Southwest is undoubtedly my favorite airline to fly. Their service is always solid, I like the check-in system (I’m a pro, folks. “A” Boarding Group all the way), and TWO FREE CHECKED BAGS.
That’s huge for me. HUGE.
Anyway…. Southwest just announced a new “in-flight amenity”…. Jake Tapper and I had the exact same reaction:
what fresh Hell is this? https://t.co/EIxOYAkRmU

Go home Southwest, you’re drunk.
Southwest Airlines has finalized an agreement with Warner Music Nashville that will expand the airline’s series of pop-up in-air concerts. Southwest has been hosting in-air shows occasionally since 2011, and Billboard reports that the series “has only grown in popularity over the past six years, as Southwest passengers hope that their flight will be one of the lucky ones to feature a sure-to-go-viral performance.”
To celebrate the announcement, Devin Dawson played a show for passengers heading from Nashville to Philadelphia. Past performers on Southwest flights include Valerie June and the Strumbellas.
…fabulous.
Surely some people will think this is cute of fun or whatever. I’m not one of those people. I use flights to catch up on A)Work B)Sleep. The amount I do of each is inversely related, and I’m always running behind on one or the other.
Don’t f*** with me, Southwest. We have a good thing going.
I feel a like a little less of a grinch knowing I’m not the only person who feels this way:
I often wish I could be strapped to a bad chair listening to someone else’s favorite genre of music while hermetically sealed in a sky tube.

This interesting convo broke out, and I had to laugh:

This is the only acceptable answer for live entertainment, but getting Bruce to pilot and do lead vocals might be a bit of a challenge.

“Our estimated time of arrival is … TWO! MINUTES! TO MIIIIDNIGHT!”

Ok…. I wouldn’t mind seeing that.
But mostly…

I hope to GOD I’m not one of the “lucky ones” who gets to experience this…
…but I do fly in to California a lot….
I have a feeling California flights are a target for this fu**ery.
