While I get frustrated at how much our society bends over backwards about transgender rights over the comfort and privacy of the vast majority of the American population, when it comes down to it I legitimately feel for those who suffer from this.
While I think the “gender fluid” stuff we keep seeing is all a product of our SJW society, being transgendered is not a trend or a fad. It’s a legitimate disorder.
Men: imagine deciding you want to chop your genitals off, wear dresses, and change your name to Kathy.
Yeah… you can’t. Because this isn’t something that just “happens.” Something is legitimately wrong… which is why I think it’s sad that the left encourages these people to mutilate their bodies instead of finding and treating the underlying disorder, and helping these people feel comfortable in their God-given bodies.
The left preaches “loving yourself for who you are” and self-acceptance…. unless you suffer from a debilitating dysmorphia, in which case you should surgically modify your body into an imitation of something you can never truly be.
As quoted from the Wall Street Journal:
A 2011 study at the Karolinska Institute in Sweden produced the most illuminating results yet regarding the transgendered, evidence that should give advocates pause. The long-term study—up to 30 years—followed 324 people who had sex-reassignment surgery. The study revealed that beginning about 10 years after having the surgery, the transgendered began to experience increasing mental difficulties. Most shockingly, their suicide mortality rose almost 20-fold above the comparable nontransgender population. This disturbing result has as yet no explanation but probably reflects the growing sense of isolation reported by the aging transgendered after surgery. The high suicide rate certainly challenges the surgery prescription.
Trans “advocates” challenge this as “bigoted.” This is a bigoted study because of COURSE they should go through a completely life altering surgery that renders their genitals biologically useless. They’re just suicidal because of the patriarchy… or something.
Has it occurred to them that facing this sad reality and approaching it head on may actually be a more compassionate course of action?
If someone I loved told me they were suffering from transgendered thoughts, I would hope to support them, love them, and help them love themselves. I’d want them to see themselves as the wonderful individual they are, and feel comfortable in their own skin.
That’s “bigoted”… I should instead support the surgical mutilation of their genitals…and ignore their underlying mental health.
Anyway…
