All We’re Really Asking For Is Wealth, Happiness, Good Health, Great Relationships, Great Jobs, A Sense Of Total Satisfaction, And Free WiFi. What’s The BFD?

I love this video from The Onion, because even though it’s satirical, it perfectly captures the essence of our entitlement culture, doesn’t it?  The thing I love most about this video is that on the original YouTube page, there are people commenting who are legit arguing about the things the people in the video are saying they want – as if it’s a serious wishlist.  Are people that incapable of understanding satire these days?  Like – there’s a whole discussion there about communism and other political systems.

And there’s an Actual Comment there that says, “While this is clearly meant to be humorous (with the intended undertone being that Americans are spoiled), the truth of the matter is: if we allocated our resources better, MANY of these things would actually be possible. Just think about how much energy, money, and materials are wasted.”

Anyway, enjoy this, because that’s the point.  Well – that, and also to mock the entitlement mentality that is so pervasive in our culture.
