A bunch of librarians decided to get a little “creative” in promoting their library by recreating a recognizable Kardashian magazine cover.
The resemblance is UNCANNY…
Seriously…. I compared each person… they NAILED their poses.
The only difference? They’re sitting on a PILE OF BOOKS!
HAHA! Honestly… good for them for having a sense of humor. This is awesome, in my book.
Get it… book. Because you know… librarians. Hyuck hyuck!!!
Mimicking the Hollywood Reporter cover that the Kardashians did earlier in the year, the team can be seen hilariously trying to replicate the shot.
‘It has been 10 years since the Kardashians first graced our screens. To celebrate, our social media team decided to have a totally impromptu, definitely not planned, photo-shoot,’ the caption reads. At the time of writing, the Facebook post has received over 5,000 likes – with more than 4,000 appearing in less than a day.
On top of the thousands of likes and shares are hundreds of comments from people commenting on how much they love what they have done.
When another called them out for being ‘pathetic’, the library team had this to say:
‘Promoting our library to a new generation? We don’t think there is much better we can do Gail. Unless you think Libraries aren’t worth promoting?’
They’re totally right… in the age of the internet, libraries are slowly becoming less necessary. They’ll have to innovate if they want to survive.
Thinking outside the box and poking fun at something younger generations are familiar with isn’t just funny… it’s vital.
And listen… I’m a traditionalist myself. I LOVE the smell of libraries, and used book stores, and have fought tooth and nail to never buy an electronic copy of a book… I like my REAL paper books, thankyouverymuch. There’s no particular reason I do this… I just like the “old way.”
I also grew up doing library summer reading programs (because I was the nerdy moody kid who found a lot more pleasure in Anna Karenina than I did in playing tag).
What I’m getting at is if you want to save libraries… you’ll concede that they have to adapt.
Even if that means referencing the wretched Kardashian Klan.
