Mitt Romney Says Alt-Right And Alt-Left Are In ‘Morally Different Universes’

I’m amazed by how divided conservatives are on President Trump’s recent remarks on Charlottesville. Just so we’re CRYSTAL CLEAR, white supremacists and neo-Nazis should be endlessly condemned. They are vile. I cannot stress that enough.

If you missed President Trump’s remarks on Charlottesville during Tuesday’s heated presser, you can catch up here. But just know that President Trump– once again– condemned both sides. However, people on the left and right are accusing Trump of giving the insufferable members of the alt-right a pass. Trump dared to acknowledge that some of the “alt-right” protesters across the country are people opposed to the left trying to dismantle history, and there’s truth to that. In addition, Trump only mentioned the other side because he’s sick of the double standard. MSM will happily give violent leftists a free pass. But again, many say, “SO WHAT?” In this instance, white supremacists caused the chaos in the first place, so– by their logic– Antifa thugs had every right to show up and make things 10 times worse.

I can definitely see both sides here– and perhaps I’m in the minority– but I still don’t have a problem with Trump condemning both sides. I’m sick of the double standard too. The right– by and large– has adamantly condemned neo-Nazis, white supremacists and the KKK. Some of us do it multiple times a day just to get it through the left’s thick skulls. But GOD FORRID we expect them to do the same thing.

Sen. Marco Rubio went on a bit of a tweetstorm Tuesday night, condemning Trump for mentioning left-wing violence. After all, a disgusting Nazi-sympathizer murdered an innocent woman– not an Antifa thug.

“The organizers of events which inspired & led to #charlottesvilleterroristattack are 100% to blame for a number of reasons,” Rubio tweeted.

“Mr. President,you can’t allow #WhiteSupremacists to share only part of blame.They support idea which cost nation & world so much pain,” he added.

Here’s the thing. Both sides have a right to protest in a lawful and peaceful manner. Individuals on both sides failed to do that. I loathe and condemn racist neo-Nazis, and I can’t stand Antifa thugs. Both sides are guilty of using intimidation tactics, and both sides are guilty of using violence to silence the other side. This happened. You can not like it all day long, but that’s fact.

You can hate white supremacists AND condemn both sides at the same time. That brings me to Mitt Romney’s take.

Obviously, white supremacists are the scum of the earth. But COME ON. Is Mitt Romney SERIOUSLY suggesting that Antifa thugs and BLM “pigs in a blanket fry em like bacon” agitators are in a “morally different universe”? NEITHER SIDE gets the moral high ground here.

The fact that you view Antifa as moral and acceptable is beyond disgusting. No wonder you lost resoundingly in your presidential run.
