Hope Hicks To Be Named New White House Communications Director

Hope Hicks has been with the Trump Team since the very early stages of Trump’s campaign.

In fact, she’s been with Trump since before the “Trump train” was even really a thing.

As the White House senior communications adviser, Hicks helps shape Trump’s messaging. She was a public relations professional for the Trump Organization before becoming one of the first people to join Trump’s campaign press team.

 

Her relationship with Trump began while she was working for Hiltzik Strategies, a New York public relations firm founded by Matthew Hiltzik, a longtime Hillary Clinton supporter. She eventually left the firm to work for the Trump Organization and worked on several projects, including Ivanka Trump’s fashion line and Trump resorts.

While Hicks has been an instrumental part of the Trump team, she has yet to face the left’s full scorn. Up until now, she’s been relatively behind-the-scenes.

President Trump has offered the job to Hicks and she has accepted the position, according to a White House insider. Hicks has been close by Trump’s side since the early days of the campaign and is one of his most trusted staffers. She has been serving on the press team in more of a behind-the-scenes role as the director of strategic communications.

 

The communications director position has been open since President Trump fired Anthony Scaramucci in July, just ten days after the Mooch took over the position from former press secretary Sean Spicer. Trump ditched Scaramucci shortly after he decided to bring on Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly as his new chief of staff.
