Woman Thinks Our Letter To Daughters Is Stupid, Because Ladyparts

Last week, I did the left a solid and wrote a letter they could give to their daughters. I mean, that’s all I heard after the election. “What am I going to tell my daughters? How will I explain this to them?!”

I saw a need and addressed it. I’m a giver like that. If you missed it, you can read the letter here.

To my surprise, it generated quite the response–both positive and negative feedback. But there was one response that we Chicks found especially hilarious. It’s so hysterical that we decided we couldn’t keep it to ourselves. We had to share. Of course, the drive-by wanted to remain anonymous, because she can’t own up to her beliefs? I don’t know. Nevertheless, her response warranted another response. It called for a fisk.

As usual, my commentary will be bold.

Dear Chicks–I’ve read this letter and rarely have I read anything so misguided. What can we tell our daughters? How about we start with some basic facts and truth? Excellent! Let’s do that. I’m pleased to hear that you’re as dedicated to the truth as we are. 

I’m not even going to get into some of the political arguments, such as whether Hillary is more selfish than Donald (not a chance). Why not? Let’s get into that. I’d love to talk a little bit about the Clinton Foundation. We could talk about how less than 6 percent of the Foundation’s budget goes to Actual Charity! Or we could talk about how they used the Clinton Foundation money– money for the poor and helpless– to pay for Chelsea’s wedding! Or we could talk about how the Clintons generously donated over $1 million in charity to themselves last year! No? All of that’s off the table? Fine. But let’s talk about some women’s issues. Oh goodie! I’m hoping this conversation will involve more than ladyparts.

Action’s speak louder than words.  Indeed they do.  And Donald Trump’s actions of multiple affairs, talking about grabbing pussy, and actually grabbing that pussy speak volumes. We never– I repeat, NEVER– condoned those remarks. They were completely inappropriate. I know you blindly ignore the flaws in your candidate, but we don’t. We’re not afraid to call Trump out. That’s a key difference here. Maybe I’ll write back after he goes on trial for raping a 13-year-old. You’re seriously sticking with that completely debunked story? You know it’s been debunked, right? The woman who made that accusation admitted she made it up. That aside, Hillary is married to an Actual Rapist and serial groper who shoved cigars up an intern’s ladyparts in the Oval Office. Just in case you forgot about that. But let’s stay with what we have.  You talk about a rape crisis in Germany because of immigrants. Well, let me tell you something and I hope you hear this loud and clear.  We have a rape crisis in the US. Our daughters are much more likely to be raped by an acquaintance or some man she just met on campus than by an immigrant (but thanks for feeding into that fear). You’re meaning to tell me that the 2,000 men who allegedly assaulted 1,200 women in Cologne on New Year’s Eve was just par for the course? And signs in Sweden reading, “Women who don’t wear a headscarf are asking to be raped” are just friendly reminders? Germany is handing out pamphlets that actually instruct migrants to NOT grope women. There’s a reason for that. You’re meaning to tell me that it’s no different here? Come on. Even you can’t buy that. 

No, Donald Trump did not cause this. But Donald Trump by his words if we’re still talking about that tape, please. We condemned it and he apologized and actions what actions? He didn’t rape a 13-year-old girl just made this culture of rape even more acceptable. Based on what? You have absolutely NO basis for that claim. To not recognize this to not recognize what? If anyone’s not recognizing something, it’s you. You’re apparently fine with bringing thousands of refugees, who find raping women culturally acceptable, into this country. How are you explaining THAT to our nation’s girls? and take action against it is to do a grave disservice to the daughters you are trying to reach.

Democrats do not reduce women to their reproductive organs.  That’s news to me. In fact, by trying to take reproductive decisions out of the hands of our politicians they are trying to empower women. Reproductive decisions are already in the hands of women. You act like women have to ask politicians for permission to have sex. Newsflash: They don’t. When you have sex, you’re making a reproductive decision. Right then. You. The individual. Once you’re pregnant, that decision has been made. This isn’t complicated. Government had nothing to do with that decision. How is it in this day and age that we can still have such an inequitable balance of power that our health insurance plans will pay for Viagra but not birth control? I’m getting bored. Is this all we’re going to talk about? Women care about more than free birth control, and there are plenty of places women can get free birth control. Birth control coverage was mandated by the ACA because of this. Speaking of ACA, how ya dig those new premiums? So affordable! And make no doubt,  too many in the GOP believe that only natural birth control should be practiced. Really now? That’s quite the sweeping statement. Are you sure you’re not getting this confused with the GOP’s general opposition to abortifacients? There’s a difference. You know what, if they want to take that route that is their option. But don’t force that upon others. No one’s telling women that they can’t use birth control. This is a non-issue. How does an unwanted pregnancy empower women? How does telling women, “It’s OK! You don’t have to own your individual choices! Screw personal responsibility! Forget about it! Get rid of your baby! Problem solved!” empower women? What does that teach our daughters? That they can terminate babies when they’re inconvenient? That they don’t have to take responsibility for their actions? That’s the message we want to convey to our daughters? You know what? It doesn’t. You know what it does? It gives men power over women huh? How? Rape and incest aside (most abortions are done out of convenience), these women willingly had sex. They knew they could become pregnant.  How is that a man’s fault? How does that empower men? and that, dear chicks, is exactly what the GOP wants. Riiiight. Patriarchy! Manspreading! Mansplaining! We want men to rule over us! Go oppression!

Please tell me how repealing the ACA is pro-woman? I dunno. I’m a woman. I don’t have health insurance because Obamacare made it completely unaffordable. And believe it or not, the rising premiums affect more than men. I know this may be difficult for you to comprehend. This Act provided healthcare to thousands of woman and their children who were unable to obtain it otherwise. It also caused thousands people to lose their existing plans. Yes, this Act needs to be improved. Oh goodie. You admit it. Yes, the rates are going up but it is not the fault of the ACA. Really now? Whose fault is it? Are you going the Obama route? Are you going to blame employers? Our rising health care costs are tied to many things, such as an aging population, new and improved equipment, and drug prices (and the unabashed greed of the corporations. No. Greedy CEOs have nothing to do with this. Read this and call me in the morning. And what Is Trump doing? Putting drug company lobbyists on his cabinet.. Let me know how that works in reducing drug prices. But I digress.)  You really don’t believe Obamacare has anything to do with rising premiums? Originally, healthy people were supposed to offset the higher costs of the sicker risk pools. Insurance companies were relying on young, healthy people to purchase health insurance under Obamacare. That didn’t happen. We told them it wouldn’t work. Most people would rather pay the fine. Now, Obamacare’s imploding. It’s imploding because Obamacare failed to deliver on its promises. Promises Democrats knew they couldn’t keep. 

But so far nothing has been suggested to replace it other than eliminate State lines and make things competitive. Did you not hear about Health Savings Accounts? Requiring price transparency from all healthcare providers? Giving states back the power of managing Medicaid? Anyone in the health care industry will tell you that’s not going to make things affordable. So what the end result will be is taking away health insurance from many women (especially single mothers). That’s completely asinine. You say empowerment, I say disaster. And what do you know? Throughout this entire letter, all of your complaints hinged on ladyparts. Thanks again for proving my point. The left only knows how to pander to women by parroting the old “women’s issues” points. Boobs, vaginas and abortion. Like I said before, women care about more than that. We’re more than our reproductive organs.  We care about the unemployment rate. The economy. The national debt. National security. Immigration reform. Welfare reform. Regulatory reform. Believe it or not, we think about more than our ability to reproduce. To suggest otherwise is demeaning.
