Washington Mall Shooting Suspect Had A Tumblr Page With A Chant To Allah, Photo Of ISIS Leader

Authorities arrested 20-year-old Arcan Cetin, the man suspected of fatally shooting five people at the Cascade Mall in Burlington, Washington, Saturday night. Cetin is a Turkish immigrant who allegedly carried out the vicious attack using guns stolen from his father.

Authorities still haven’t identified an exact motive. Was he simply a mentally unstable nut, or was he motivated by a certain ideology? Was this an act of terrorism?

Chair of the House Committee on Homeland Security Rep. Michael McCaul said “there’s a good chance” Friday night’s attack was inspired by radical Islam.

“There was a Washington mall shooter. He’s been caught. The suspect was 20 years old. Turkish, Muslim, Arcan Cetin. He was arrested for murder of the five people he killed in the mall in Washington State. What can you tell us about him? Is this related to Islamic terrorism?”  Fox News’ Mario Bartiromo asked.

“Well, I think there was a good chance it could be. I know right now law enforcement, FBI is playing it safe, saying there are no links to terrorism. That’s true at least from the evidence so far. I wouldn’t be surprised if we find out more details about this individual, as well as we did Mr. [Ahmad Khan] Rahami,” McCaul said.

It’s still too early to jump to conclusions. While still don’t officially know this guy’s religion, we do know that he had a Tumblr page with a chant to Allah on it.

Again, authorities haven’t officially identified a motive. We know Cetin’s ex-girlfriend worked at the Macy’s he terrorized, but she hasn’t worked there for months and lives in another country, so I’m not particularly sure why that’s relevant at this point.
