Another day, another chance for Lena Dunham to be a complete seahag (thankfully, she kept her clothes on this time. Or… at least she didn’t actually post a picture of her naked body online and called it “feminism”).
According to this, Lena Dunham is advocating the removal of guns from subway ads promoting the new movie Jason Bourne. And she doesn’t necessarily want the movie’s official marketing team to do it – make a bunch of new ads without the guns to be displayed on the subways. That would be one thing (it’d still be stupid, of course). But she actually wants the public to peel the guns off the ads themselves. As in, vandalize someone else’s property.
Here is the original Instagram post from producer Tami Sagher posted that Lena highlighted on her own Instagram account –
In light of the recent shooting tragedies that have occurred in the U.S., Lena Dunham is in full support of ripping gun images out of the new Jason Bourne subway ads.
After producer Tami Sagher proposed removing images of the gun that Matt Damon’s titular character is seen holding in the film’s ads, the creator and star of HBO’s Girls reposted Sagher’s message. In full support of bringing awareness to gun control, Dunham captioned the photo: “Good idea @tulipbone! Let’s go!”
Yes. Because it was the guns that were out killing people. It wasn’t divisive rhetoric or racial tension or anything like that. The guns made it all happen.
Let’s take it a step further – maybe if we stopped making action movies then all our problems would go away. Anything that’s remotely offensive to liberal sensibilities – we must get rid of! The only thing left to watch would be Lena Dunham’s crappy HBO show.
Oh second thought – that would probably lead to more death and violence. I know I’d go nuts if all I had to watch was Lena Dunham prance around naked.
