Nutty Anti-Constitutionalist Jumps The White House Fence During First Family’s Thanksgiving

Security might take a day off for the holidays, but crazy never sleeps.

According to this, some random kook jumped the White House fence while President Obama and his family were celebrating Thanksgiving. The guy was wearing an American flag as a cape – which makes it impossible for him to blend in and get away with his shenanigans –

The sourcelink says that the man’s name is Joseph Caputo and, in the past he’s called for the Constitution to be rewritten or scrapped entirely (well, if that’s all he wanted to do, he just needs to become President and issue a crapload of executive orders). He was carrying a binder that, presumably, had a letter to President Obama with ideas on how to “fix” the country. But based on some of his political views, ehhhh… like I said, crazy –

On the Constitution: ‘I believe that in a democracy the people lead, and that we need revolution, and that parties are a useless waste of time, meant to keep us from leading our nation as we should be by distracting us with redundant and passionate debates meant to keep us bickering with one another.’
On Thanksgiving: ‘While President, George Washington issued a proclamation which was then backed by Congress, and thereby on November 26th, 1789 the first Thanksgiving was celebrated.
‘The holiday was initiated to give thanks to the new Constitution and the liberty and harmony that comes from self government. Today has as much to do with turkeys and pilgrims as Easter does with eggs and rabbits. So today, don’t think of what your planet can do for you, think about what you can do for your planet.’

The Daily Mail article also fixates on the fact that Caputo is a comic book fan – which is supposed to make him sound crazier or something? Eh, it’s a media narrative. Though the guy does kind of look like Grant Ward, who is one of the crazed-psycho villains in “Agents of SHIELD” –

But I digress.

Anyway – Secret Service did catch the guy and he was immediately arrested. Which is the good news. I might not like President Obama and his politics, but I sure don’t want the President of the United States and his family put in danger because of one crazy fence-jumper who can’t be bothered to take a holiday off.
