S.E. Cupp is seen in the following video using data, facts, and statistics to smack down a Catholic nun. And it's a beautiful thing. Yeah, you read that right. And no, I don't think I'm automatically going to Hell (at least not for this post, anyway). You see, I'm one of those weird people who doesn't automatically judge a person by their title. And in this case? Sister Campbell – like most of the "Pelosi-Catholics," as I like to call them, has a weird notion in her head that her chosen religion – her profession, her faith, her life's calling, really – is some sort of buffet, where she can pick and choose what she believes and what she doesn't. As of this moment, she has become the new poster-girl for why I shake my head at Catholic Democrats. It's as if the institution of the welfare state is more important than the fact that her party believes in killing their young….more important than the fact that her party took God OUT of their platform, for crying out loud. This is the party whose highest ranked doesn't seem to give a rat's patootey about Israel (don't even get me started on Jewish Democrats).
Um, Holy Land, Sister? Ever heard of it?
Yeah – because she, like many of her other Catholic friends – can only focus on one tiny section of the grand buffet. And in Sister's case, that's the welfare section. Nevermind that it's bankrupting us. Never mind that there are more living in poverty DESPITE all of our many entitlement programs in this country. Never mind facts, data, reason, and sanity. Never mind that a sense of charity is something that REAL Christians and Catholics and Jews (and so on) will DO – not because a government entity forces them to.
Never mind. Republicans are meanies. If a nun believes it, it must be true, right?
Wrong.
This, my friends, is why I think the following smackdown is a beautiful thing. It's because hypocrisy – and ignorance – comes in all shapes and titles.
