In Case You Might Have Been Thinking That The UN Was At Least SOMEWHAT Useful…

…allow me to share this.

According to that sourcelink, North Korea has taken over leadership of the UN’s world disarmament agency.

And yes. You read that correctly. NORTH KOREA is in charge of the DISARMAMENT OF THE WORLD.

As the ED of UN Watch rightly pointed out, “It’s asking the fox to guard the chickens, and damages the U.N.’s credibility.” That’s of course assuming they still had any, which is really questionable.

Now apparently this new assignment is the result of an “automatic rotation” but it’s kind of obvious to anyone with an Actual Brain that this is like, the biggest conflict of interest EVER.

The UN Security Council has CONDEMNED North Korea repeatedly because of its nuclear and missile tests as recently as last year. But yeah – they’re in charge of disarmament for the entire world now. YAY!

And because that isn’t dumb enough on its own, Syria is joining the UN’s Human Rights Council.

If it weren’t so incredibly, ridiculously wrong, I’d be laughing at this. But it’s no laughing matter, unfortunately. What’s laughable is that we continue to lend any support to the UN whatsoever.
