Are any of y’all out there stockpiling food and weapons for that other D-day? You know, the day of economic collapse? The day when the people in this country that think they’re safe in their smart cars and hopey changey blankets made from unicorn farts and fairy dust find themselves having to fend for themselves and barter toilet paper because the country just flat-out shuts down?
Yeah. That day.
I know it sounds nuts to some – it actually sounds pretty darn nuts to me most days – but the notion is also weirdly interesting to me at the same time. It’s something we haven’t talked about much out here in COTR-land, mainly because we’re not your typical, “let’s can some vegetables in our spare time!” gals. But the idea of an economic collapse – a time of unrest and desperation – is gaining momentum out there in Internet-land and the blogosphere. And the more I see Democrats spending the crap out of my money, putting us all more into debt, and ignoring the fact that EVENTUALLY THE BOTTOM WILL FALL OUT IF THEY DON’T STOP, the more I think, “huh, Daisy. Maybe you should start stockpiling some canned green beans. You like green beans. And you never know, those yahoos in Washington may not ever get a freakin’ clue.”
I’m sure you’re saying to yourself, “WHOA, Daisy. What brought this up?” Well, I blame author Robert Kyosaki of ‘Rich Dad, Poor Dad’ fame, who is seen in the video below talking about how people should prepare for this economic collapse. And in preparing for said collapse, maybe it won’t happen.
But if it DOES happen? I guess I’m at least somewhat prepared, seeing as how I live out in the country, don’t rely on the government for my water, can grow my own food, have big, scary-looking dogs and I have one hell of an arsenal at my disposal. I’m not going to lie, though. I’d really miss the Nordstrom shoe department. And Sephora. Just sayin.
