Favorite Line Of The Day

I read an analysis of Obama’s tax cut deal this morning, and there was one line that kinda made me giggle.

You’ve probably heard a lot of chatter about the deal made between Obama and Republicans, basically without regard to House Democrats whatsoever. Democrats are furious with him, Republicans are feeling like they’ve won, and Obama is making an ass of himself at every possible opportunity, first putting blame on Republicans for cornering him into this deal, and next putting blame on Democrats for whining about it, and ALWAYS sounding defensive, angry and completely devoid of leadership skills.

But the analysis linked above is right. Obama could EASILY still be re-elected. He’s a kickass campaigner. In fact, if that was his full time job, he could win prizes for how great of a campaigner he is. The problem is that once he’s actually IN the job for which he’s campaigned, he’s a miserable failure.

Anyway. Back to the line that caught my eye. It read, “…if Sarah Palin is the Republican nominee, Obama could probably personally execute a Gitmo detainee on the White House lawn every day at high noon and liberals would still vote for him.” Now, I know you readers get really defensive for Sarah when we suggest that she isn’t the right person to be the GOP nominee, but that line says it exactly right. She is SO hated by the left, and has been SO demonized (through no fault of her own), that people who lean even a little left would vote for Obama no matter how much he’s disappointed them, just to vote against her.

2012 is closer than we realize. And so far, there is no GOP frontrunner whose name hasn’t been thrown into the mix the last time around. The Architect seems to think that’s a good thing. Do you?
