You Know Who’s Kinda Crazy?

Self-identifying feminists. Those chicks are wack.

Now, let me just clarify. I am a female. I think women rock. And I think women should make the same pay as men for the same jobs, and I think women should have the same rights as men. However, I don’t think women should get a pass on physical requirements for things like firefighting or police work or military combat. If they are physically able to do the required work, then they should be allowed to do it. But none of this “female-version” physical test crap. If you want to be a female firefighter, you should still have to be able to carry a MALE firefighter out of a freaking fire. Because men have to be able to do that.

Anyway.

A few days back, I posted a video about feminism at The Mock Dock that was completely kick-ass, and I posted it there versus here because there is where I usually vent my disgust with Ashley Judd, and I thought the video was especially perfect for her (to watch, that is. She’d totally disagree with it).

Anyway, that video is below. But first, let me draw your attention to the latest shenanigans at Feministing. They have decided to make the month of December all about women growing a unibrow to bring attention to an as-of-yet-unidentified charity.

They say, “This month, I encourage you to grow in your unibrow, or, if you don’t have one, use an herbal remedy or a pencil to fake it (as they do in Tajikistan), for the cause of your choice. Challenging cultural norms about women’s facial hair while raising money for a good cause? Now that’s just the kind of thing that gets me in the holiday spirit.”

I’m sorry, but this is the dumbest way to bring attention to a charity ever. How about doing something that doesn’t make women look ridiculous? How about making it the month that women wear stilettos every day? Or the month that women wear a certain color nailpolish? Or, oh I don’t know, SOMETHING ACTUALLY FEMININE?
