London Breed, the mayor of San Francisco, just asked the outgoing governor of California to let her murderer brother out of prison – 20 YEARS EARLY.
The mayor of San Francisco has asked a departing governor to commute her brother’s jail sentence for manslaughter.
London Breed, who became the city’s first black female mayor when she was appointed earlier this year, asked Gov. Jerry Brown in late October to consider intervening to secure the release of her older brother Napoleon Brown.
Mr Brown was convicted of manslaughter and sentenced to 44 years in jail after pushing 25-year-old Lenties White from a getaway car on the Golden Gate Bridge after an armed robbery in June 2000.
So… what’s her reasoning? He should be let out because he’s the Mayor of SF’s brother?
Sounds like a pretty dirty case of nepotism to me. Why should this murderer get special privileges?
According to the San Francisco Chronicle, sister London joined other members of her family to petition Gov. Brown for his release – 20 years before the end of Napoleon’s sentence.
‘Too many people, particularly young black men like my brother was when he was convicted, are not given an opportunity to become contributing members of society after they have served time in prison,’ she wrote in an October letter to the governor.

Your brother blew HIS OWN CHANCE to become a “contributing member of society.”
You know who ELSE won’t become a “contributing member of society?” THE PERSON HE KILLED.
‘Although I don’t believe the 44-year sentence was fair, I make no excuses for him,’ Breed wrote.
‘His decisions, his actions, led him to the place he finds himself now. Still, I ask that you consider mercy, and rehabilitation.’
WAIT. If the sentence was fair… WHY SHOULD HE SERVE LESS THAN HALF OF IT?!
Sandra McNeil, the mother of the victim, said Brown does not deserve early release.
‘I don’t think it would be justice,’ she said. ‘She’s the mayor, so she’s got a little power, so she thinks she can get her brother out.’
What kind of message would that send? “Politicians’ family members serve half the time for murder.”
