Sarah Sanders Has HARSH Words For Those Refusing To Confirm Pompeo

Mike Pompeo’s confirmation hearing is set for today, and there are some doubts as to whether he will be confirmed.

Sarah Sanders had a very important message for the Democrats who are holding back his confirmation.

“Democrats have to decide whether they love this country more than they hate this president.”

According to Fox:

White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said that she hopes Democratic members of the Senate will change their minds on secretary of state nominee Mike Pompeo.

Pompeo, whose confirmation hearing will be held Monday, is facing stiff opposition from the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

“Look, at some point, Democrats have to decide whether they love this country more than they hate this president,” Sanders said.

Sanders added that Democrats need to look at whether or not they want to put the country’s safety ahead of their “political games.”

Mike Pompeo is outstanding. First in his class at West Point. A top student at Harvard Law School. A success at whatever he has done. We need the Senate to approve Mike ASAP. He will be a great Secretary of State!

The senators have objected to Pompeo’s hawkish foreign policy views and criticized him for not disclosing at his Senate confirmation hearing his recent meeting with Kim Jong Un.

Republican Sen. Rand Paul (Ky.) is also opposed to Pompeo’s confirmation.

“[Pompeo] has been one of the leading people when it comes to the negotiations and the conversations with North Korea,” Sanders said.

“To stop that would be incredibly dangerous and damaging for our country and the world.”

As you may remember, Cory Booker actually made a spectacle out of asking Mike Pompeo whether he thinks gay sex is a perversion…

So yeah. I’m not counting on this going well.
