Y’all know I don’t like to play the sexism card. It’s not my style. But this? THIS IS RIDICULOUS.
According to the sourcelink, eating delicious foods like pasta and pizza and other foods filled with delicious glorious perfect cheese helps protect middle aged men from getting osteoporosis. But women? NOPE. We just get fat from it.
This is unacceptable, obviously.
A nutrition professor from Hebrew SeniorLife, which, according to the sourcelink is somehow affiliated with Harvard so you KNOW IT’S SUPER LEGIT, said that her study of 2600 people found that dudes over 50 who eat lots of dairy had stronger spines and hips, but that similar results did not appear with women, unless you count the small benefit for women who eat a lot of cream.
Whizzah to the whuzzah???
As the professor pointed out, more women than men have osteoporosis to begin with, which is obviously ALREADY super sexist. Why should we have to get all the osteoporosis, I ask you? Why can’t there be an equal distribution of osteoporosis? I DEMAND EQUALITY.
Anyway, the fact that any dietary/nutritional information was gleaned from this study is important for the study of osteoporosis as a whole, because as the professor said, “Dietary factors represent an important and growing area of interest, as these factors could be easily modified for optimum bone health. Yet, few studies have directly compared specific types of dairy foods even though not all dairy products have a similar effect on bone health.”
Studies completed in the past looked at bone density using x-rays, and have focused mostly on milk consumption, so this study was different, because it looked at ALL dairy intake, including delicious pizza and pasta and other perfect cheesy products.
The worst part? They considered “high consumption of dairy” to be more than 3 servings a week. In other words, I’m an OFF THE CHARTS dairy consumer, because I eat cheese as often as I possibly can, which is a LOT. But is that helping me prevent osteoporosis? NOPE BECAUSE I’M A CHICK.
SEXISM.
The professor “lamented the lack of insight into bone-strengthening for women,” according to the sourcelink. Yeah. I lament it too. Especially because of how sexist it is.
Anyway, this is the real war on women, y’all. This right here.
