Why you should go see “Jesus Revolution”

If you haven’t heard of this film, or maybe you have heard of it but you don’t really know what it is, let me tell you about it.  It’s based off a true story of a revival sweeping through the hippie community in the 70s.  There was a pastor of a small and failing church who meets this eccentric, hippy man who just wants to spread the Word of God. This guys starts to invite anyone and everyone to this church, and next thing you know, this revival is sweeping through California, and shortly after, the rest of the country. It’s a really beautiful and really cool story!

The film has not even been out for two weeks, and it is already surpassing all of its projections.  It was projected to only make $7 million in its debut weekend, it made $15.5.  Within the first week, it has made over $30 million.

I saw the film this past weekend, and if you haven’t seen it, I can’t recommend it enough. First of all, you tell me anything has Kelsey Grammer, and I’m already all in.  I once flew to NYC for a weekend just to see him in a musical he was in.  If it has Frasier, Danielle is watching.  But then you tell me it’s a movie about Jesus? Say less.  Get me some popcorn, I’m ready.

I went into this film expecting it to be one of those cheesy Christian films.  And you know what?  I would have been ok with that.  But, it wasn’t the level of cheese you expect.  It was funny, it was heartwarming, and I loved every second of it.  It’s really not surprising to me that this film is doing as well as it is.  It’s so nice to see a family friendly film not full of sex, foul language, and woke nonsense.  We need more films like this, and less of the crap we are usually given.
