Trump Victory Caused A Spike In Suicide-Prevention/Crisis Hotlines

People are so triggered by economic freedom and national security that they’re contemplating suicide. I am not making this up.

After everyone realized that Donald Trump would defeat Hillary Clinton, emotionally triggered snowflakes called suicide-prevention/crisis hotlines. Between 1 and 2 a.m. Wednesday– right around the time they called Pennsylvania for Trump– the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline rang 660 times. According to the WaPo, that’s 2½ times the average for that hour. In other words, they saw a 140 percent increase.

“We didn’t see numbers like this in 2008 or 2012,” Lifeline director John Draper said. “This was an extraordinary year by any stretch of the imagination.”

A suicide prevention hotline for LBGTQ youths (the Trevor project) also saw a major uptick in call volume.  Deputy Executive Director Steve Mendelsohn said calls doubled between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Wednesday, right around the time of Hillary Clinton’s concession speech. The last time they had that many calls? After the massacre at Pulse nightclub in Orlando.

Crisis Text Line also had more pleas for help. According to the report, “some 2,000 people contacted the text hotline, with the words ‘election’ and ‘scared’ as the most commonly used. The latter was most often associated with ‘LGBTQ.'”

Holy mother of dramatic.

I have no idea why these people are acting like this. What are you so afraid of? I want specifics. A wall that prevents people from coming here illegally? Preventing dangerous anti-LGBT ideologues from coming into our country? Keeping more of your own money?

Freedom is scary. Dependence is comfortable. That’s the only explanation that makes sense.
