After a long day at work, there’s nothing better than coming home, kicking your shoes off, cracking open a cold one and having a rousing talk about the mythical gender wage gap. Can I get an amen, my working class people?
Oh. I can’t?
Well, Bud Light just got the memo. If you recall, Bud Light tried to use feminism, Amy Schumer and Seth Rogen as selling points. Cue this horrid commercial:

Then they dropped this god-awful spot:

Who wants to be lectured on gender identity while sippin’ on a cold Bud? Anyone? Bueller? IS ANYBODY OUT THERE?
It looks like they finally got the memo. Anheuser-Busch InBev– the parent company of Bud Light– pulled the “Bud Light Party” ads after sales tanked. A spokesman for the brewer said the ads were already scheduled to end in the fall, but the parent company decided to pull them “a little earlier than expected” after sales continued to fall in the third quarter.
“Despite continued positive signs in brand health evolution, driven by millennials and Hispanics, 3Q was the softest performance of Bud Light for the year from a volume and share perspective,” Bud Light senior director of marketing communications Lisa Weser told Adweek. “The Bud Light Party campaign helped us improve these brand attributes, but it did not translate to improved volume and share performance. While we are clearly not satisfied with Bud Light’s performance, we are already leveraging what we’ve learned to develop and execute new work.”
I guess working men and women don’t enjoy beer companies using insufferable seahags and douchecanoes to lecture them on feminism and gender identity. Who would’ve thought?
