Representative Dan Bishop of the 9th district of North Carolina is doing a breakdown of the McConnell/Schumer omnibus spending bill. I already wrote a little about how absolutely absurd this spending proposal is, but Rep. Bishop found some really great things that I didn’t include, and I want you to know what it is that they are trying to pass.
Here’s the beginning of his Twitter thread, which is well worth the read.
My team and I are reading through the omnibus bill today – all $1.7 trillion and 4,155 pages of it.

Follow along for some of the most egregious provisions in the bill ⬇️
For example, the word “salmon” apparently appears 48 times in this bill. Because salmon is apparently a huge priority for Congress right now.
$65 million for salmon?

Salmon is the new pork! 🐖

$5 million for salmon reintroduction
$1 million to protect salmon from toxic chemicals
$750k for Oregon salmon conservation pic.twitter.com/OHNTgssnra
Oh, and bees. They care a lot about bees and fish.
And lest the other fish feel left out of the spending spree, here's $65.7 million for international fisheries commissions.

Perhaps President Bush was onto something when he said "I know the human being and the fish can coexist peacefully." pic.twitter.com/2P7CkeI5pe
But hey, at least they’re upfront about their abortion agenda when they allocate $575 million for “family planning/reproductive heath” (translation: abortion availability) “including in areas where population growth threatens biodiversity or endangered species.” Gotta get more people to kill their babies, especially in places where having those babies might endanger animals… Because these people care more about endangered species than they do about human babies.
On a more sinister note, here's at least $575 million for "family planning" in areas where population growth "threatens biodiversity."

Malthusianism is a disturbing, anti-human ideology that should have ZERO place in any federal program. pic.twitter.com/7EfFx2pq0M
And let’s not forget about pet projects for prominent politicians like Senator Leahy, Speaker Pelosi, and Michelle Obama.
Here are just a handful of the many earmarks in the bill, including $3.6 million for the "Michelle Obama Trail." pic.twitter.com/OdZnlWSqLV

Seriously, read this thread to find out how much is being spent on things like a gender program in Pakistan, Gender Equity Funds, vaccine injury/death funds, “anti-racism” programs, renaming post offices, monuments for journalists, LGBTQ+ museums, gun violence research, House of Representatives Office of Diversity and Inclusion, Planned Parenthood, new FBI headquarters, “gender advisor programs” at the Pentagon, “improving coordination” in NYC Mayor’s office, diversity action plans for FDA studies, and SO MUCH MORE. It is truly disgusting.
