According to this, Pat Benatar would like you to know that she has the super-duper-icky feels about singing “Hit Me With Your Best Shot,” because guns. She said that “you have to draw the line” somewhere, you see. And her line is singing that song, as it apparently has a direct correlation with the increase in gun violence in this country.
Y’all remember “Hit Me With Your Best Shot,” don’t you?
“I can’t say those words out loud with a smile on my face, I just can’t,” she admitted, and added it was her “small contribution to protesting.”
She’s making a contribution, can’t you seeee? I’m sure that her NOT singing this song will curb evil, as Pat Benatar’s catchy little ditty from 42 years ago has apparently been a huge data point in people becoming increasingly violent jackholes.
/end sarcasm (at least for now)
Now, if Pat REALLY wanted to make a contribution, she’d give all the money she made off said song to an anti-gun charity. ALL OF IT. Right, Pat? Give it ALL AWAY.
Weird how celebrities/anti-gun folks never do this. You see a lot of celebrities doing those black and white PSAs about how they hate the Second Amendment so much, yet they continue to do movies with guns in them and subsequently rake in GOBS of money. Maybe they should either, 1. stop doing those movies, or 2. give aaaaaaaaalll the cash they’ve made from said movies to the causes they say they support.
It’s a lot like the climate-change folks who bitch and moan about the weather being the biggest threat to national security, yet they don’t do anything to counter that “threat.” They drive gas-guzzling cars, wear leather, eat meat, and have a gaggle of kids. Weird, considering we’re all going to die in what – seven years now, according to AOC and friends? Isn’t that what they believe? And why are all those folks buying mansions on the coast? Shouldn’t they be living in some commune full of eco-pods together somewhere in California, eating grass and recycling their own urine or something? I don’t understand the blatant hypocrisy of these folks.
Same logic goes for you, Pat. If you are so embarrassed by that song, perhaps instead of just running your mouth and virtue-signaling, you should give back all the proceeds you MADE off said song and give it to an anti-gun charity? Then we’d know you actually believe the bullcrap you’re spewing, rather than just say you’re not going to sing a song anymore under the guise of being a really, REALLY good person.
Every. Last. Filthy. Penny. After all, it’s like blood money, right?
I’ll wait over here, but Lord knows I won’t be holding my breath. Just like I won’t hold my breath for those celebrities in the black-and-white PSAs to quit doing movies with guns in them, and I won’t hold my breath for climate change activists to quit buying mansions on the coast while they buy overpriced designer leather handbags and brag about their private jets.
They’re ALL way too predictable at this point. Yawn.

‘Seems we also forgot about the increase in wife-beatings started by Britney Spears, all the arson caused by The Doors, plus the mass migration of westerners into the USSR because of the Beatles. Oh, the humanity. Thank you Pat Benatar for restoring civilization.
Yeah. Of course Pat Benatar LOVES the money she made off of this song. She a fake, just like all of the celebrity elitists.
That’s so dumb. The song has nothing to do with guns. AT ALL. So she has gone full woke that she is reduced to using pretzel logic and twist her own meaning into something with guns to please NUT JOBS.
Now, the Dixie Chicks Goodbye Earl song? “Cause Earl had to die”
They should be banned forever. Not for the song. They just suck now. But apparently a violent bunch of Karens.
The shorter….Celebrities are good with making movies that glorify gun violence, but law abiding citizens are not permitted to arm them selves, for ANY reason.
They hypocrisy…it burns.
Addendum…y’all know that the elites are creating a two tiered class structure in this country, right? One in which YOU, the proletariat, are required to obey the elites dictates under penalty of law and one where the elites will (continue) to do whatever increases their bottom line. Laws, schmlaws…they don’t need no stinkin’ laws.
I’ve been saying that whole elite division thing for months now.
