The Objectification Of Women – A Flashback From One Of Our Favorite Videos With Benedict Polizzi, New Star Of FBoy Island. Yes. That’s A Thing.

Back in our radio days at 93WIBC, Daisy and I did a weekly video skit about news of the day or whatever topic happened to pique our interest. One week, waaaay back in 2017, we did a video that featured a co-worked at WIBC, Ben Polizzi.

Lemme just tell you about the first time we met Ben shortly after he started working at the station. Terri Stacy, the QUEEN of the station who’s been there for 30+ years, shared an office with us – it was our own little sorority house on the 4th floor. And one day, she breathlessly ran into the office, shut the door, and asked Daisy and I if we’d seen new hot guy Ben yet. We hadn’t. She pointed him out through a window in our office, where we could see him standing about 25 feet away. She was right. He was the kind of hot that is almost TOO hot. We decided to let Terri make the introduction.

Now, normal people, when meeting someone new for the first time, don’t usually just say whatever’s on their mind. They are polite and maybe even a little guarded, even if they’re friendly. But as Daisy can attest, I am not normal. So I blurted out all the things. It went something like this:

Terri: Chicks – this is Ben Polizzi. Ben – these are the Chicks.

Daisy: Hi Ben – I’m Amy Jo – nice to meet you.

Me: Hi – I’m Miriam. You are so hot that it’s hard for me to even look directly at you.

Ben: (terrified nervous laughter)

No joke. That’s pretty much how it went.

As weeks passed, we learned that Ben and his friend Joey Mulinaro were HILARIOUS, often creating just gut-splitting video content of their own, and so when we decided that we wanted to do a video about the objectification of women, we knew Ben would be totally game.

And boy, was he ever.

Ben and Joey also did their own videos making fun of office conversations among other things. Here’s one as an example:

ANYWAY, fast forward to present day. Both Joey and Ben have become stars in their own right – each with GIGANTIC social media followings. Ben is a stand up comedian, and is currently starring in Season Two of HBO’s Fboy Island.

WTF is Fboy Island, you might ask? Well, it’s one of the most ridiculous reality shows that ever existed, and unfortunately I’m ALL IN on Season Two, mainly because Ben hasn’t gotten eliminated from it yet, and there’s something super fun about tuning in and seeing someone you know on a TV show. I’m simultaneously wishing for his success and desperately hoping he gets kicked off soon so I can stop watching it. 🙂
