Y’all, that smack Will Smith gave to Chris Rock was real. I’m legit surprised by how many people are suggesting it was staged.
Super slow mo. This was definitely real. pic.twitter.com/ee62NcZ3ah

Nope – Will Smith might be an Academy Award winning actor, but Chris Rock isn’t. That was a purely real reaction to being surprisingly smacked by an out-of-control Will Smith.
I am astounded at the number of people, including every last moron in the audience AT the Oscars, who gave Will Smith a standing ovation and cried right along with him after he won Best Actor. What a bunch of hypocrites they all are. Had Will Smith been a white man, he’d be sitting in a jail cell right now. But now all of Hollywood is celebrating a guy who chose to use violence in response to a FREAKING JOKE.
Will Smith’s excuse for his behavior? “Love makes you do crazy things,” he said. WTF.
By the way, I had no idea until this morning that Jada Pinkett Smith had alopecia. The reason I didn’t know that is because IDGAF what Jada Pinkett Smith suffers from. I don’t know if Chris Rock knew what Jada Pinkett Smith suffers from. Regardless, saying “Looking forward to GI Jane 2” is like the mildest joke EVER. Will Smith’s response to it was absolutely 100% out of line in every way. That’s not a husband defending his wife’s honor. Earlier in the evening Regina Hill made a joke about Will Smith basically being single, referring to the Smith’s open-style marriage. Will wants Chris Rock to keep his wife’s name out of his mouth, but has no problem with jokes about his wife keeping ENTIRE OTHER MEN in hers. Ridiculous.
This incident isn’t, as some other folks suggest, “leftist distraction bait.” We’re talking about it because Hollywood hypocrisy needs to be called out. I’m absolutely certain the Academy does NOT want this drama – they don’t want to deal with demands by people to rescind Will Smith’s award. They don’t want this to be the reason people are talking about the Oscars.
And now? Apparently making jokes at the Smith family’s expense is now forbidden – look no further than the ridiculously adjusted headline by the Daily Mail. The first one looked like this.

Can’t have that, now can we? Nope. Whoever did that write-up for the Daily Mail got scared of being punched by Will Smith, so they changed it, and it could barely even be bothered to change any other wording:

Sorry Billie Eilish, but you don’t have a psycho husband ready to punch out people who make jokes about you, so you’re worst dressed now.
This is insanity. Comedians are LITERALLY PAID TO MAKE FUN OF PEOPLE. It’s their Actual Job. If Will Smith can’t take a joke, then he shouldn’t show up to award shows.
Chris Rock has declined to press charges, which is unfortunate. Now we just have to hope he doesn’t apologize, because then we’ll know, definitively, that comedy is dead.
