YOU GUYS. If you didn’t listen to the Mock ‘n Rob show Monday morning, and if you didn’t watch/listen to the Chicks on the Right video podcast this morning (Tues, Jan 11), then you missed out on some BIG NEWS.
You can either watch the video below and/or you can read the big news right here.
The Chicks on the Right are embarking on a new full-time CHICKS ADVENTURE starting February 1.
What does this mean? Well, it means a few things, actually. First, it means that my last appearance on WIBC as part of the Mock ‘n Rob show will be on Friday, January 28th. For those of you who have tuned in to that show for the past 13 months, HOLY CRAP do I ever appreciate you. I’m really proud of that show, and I’ve loved co-hosting with Rob. But it’s time for a change, and it’s time for us to tell you why!
FIRST AND FOREMOST, because of you all – the amazing audience that visits this site and/or tunes in to the Chicks on the Right podcast – whether it’s watching our morning videos or listening to them daily via whatever your preferred platform is, and because y’all support us and our sponsors, Daisy and I are in position now where we can focus 100% of our energy on CHICKS ON THE RIGHT. Daisy has left her corporate job, and starting February 1 we will be FULL TIME CHICKS, meaning we’ll be back to writing content for this website, we’ll be expanding our presence on our various social media channels, and we’ll be more engaged with all of YOU. It’s really what we’ve wanted to do since we started this website back in 2009, and now? IT’S TIME, y’all. It’s a risk, certainly, to not have outside full-time jobs to fall back on, but it’s a risk we are ready and willing to take.
We have a lot of goals. Bringing you more content here is just the start. We also want to provide our FB insiders and our Locals.com subscribers more exclusive content and more personal contact, because y’all are our most dedicated supporters. We want to develop a larger presence on Twitter and Instagram and Rumble and Parler and GETTR, too. We hope to organize some meet and greets. We want to build our store further. We want to start a newsletter. We want to do #ALLTHETHINGS.
But there’s a little more to this story. If you’ve listened to the Chicks podcast or you’ve listened to the Mock ‘n Rob show, you know that we spend quite a bit of time talking about mandates and how wrong they are and how much we hate them. My company has joined many other employers who’ve decided to impose mandates – masks, vaccines, and COMING SOON TO AN EMPLOYER NEAR YOU- boosters too! And while they currently offer exemptions for religious/medical reasons, they’ve also indicated that they may not ALWAYS offer them. I’m vaxed (and those of you who’ve been following us for some time know that that’s a decision I really struggled with), but I’m not willing to be told by any employer that I HAVE to get a booster. So instead of continuing to rail against mandates and comply with them at the same time, I’m in the very fortunate position now to be able to get out while the gettin’ is good. 😊
I know not everyone is in that position, and I definitely don’t take it for granted. I don’t fault any employee at any company anywhere for complying with employer covid mandates, as wrong, absurd, and useless as I believe those mandates to be, because many employees are being put in impossible positions – having to choose between their livelihoods and their own consciences. It’s cruel and unthinkable to me. Ultimately, every employer who imposes these mandates has to own that they’re retaining some of their best talent through sheer coercion. That can’t possibly be a source of pride.
When Daisy and I talk about how important it is that people STOP COMPLYING, we recognize, of course, that not everyone CAN stop. But we also believe that the only way that this overreach will end is if more people DO stop complying. Me leaving radio may not result in my radio station making changes to its mandates, but maybe it might shift thinking a bit. Or perhaps my departure will signal to other people in other companies that they too can take a stand. Or perhaps it’ll signal to other employers that they should reconsider mandates. After all, we know now that we are dealing with what is clearly an endemic virus – one whose transmission is not at all thwarted by the current ‘vaccines’ (and I do use that term loosely) being mandated. Maybe my departure won’t change anything at all – I don’t know. But I DO know that I’ll be doing my part to stop complying with mandates that I believe are completely wrong. If that’s the only outcome, well – that’ll just have to be enough. 😊
While Daisy and I also BOTH chose to leave our radio station for reasons that go beyond what I’ve just outlined, we aren’t interested in airing dirty laundry or burning bridges, and we both absolutely LOVED our time on the air in radio. It’s entirely possible that you’ll hear us fill in for other 93WIBC hosts from time to time. We still have lots of friends at WIBC and hope for their continued success. I know Daisy misses Rob, and I will miss him too. We might just have to have him pop into a video podcast one of these days, because I know lots of you will also miss him.
We aren’t quite sure yet what will become of the WIBC show in February! Rob will likely get a new co-host, and I’ll definitely be trying to tune in as often as I can. As Daisy said when she chose to leave WIBC, radio is one of the most fun jobs in the entire universe. But if there’s ANYTHING that can top it, it’s gotta be being full time Chicks on the Right. It’s what we’ve always wanted. And you’ve helped us make that a reality. We’ll need your continued support more than ever, and we’ll do our absolute best to make your support worth it.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts for being there for us. We wanna make you proud, and we’re gonna work our tails off to do just that!
In the meantime, please make sure you discontinue use of the email address to wibc.com that many of you have used forever. Our email address from now on is [email protected]. ALSO, I will no longer receive mail at the radio station after January 28th. Here are our mailing addresses:
