The governor of Michigan apologized for being caught on camera violating one of her own Covid rules. Which begs the question – Would she be apologizing if she was not caught on camera?
We’ve experienced an entire year of Covid elitism and hypocrisy. If people are so concerned with the regulations keeping us safe and healthy, shouldn’t someone be demanding her resignation? The Covid-Karens who like to accost strangers in the grocery store should be all over this. Isn’t this “literally the worst??” And the business owners who’ve been forced to shut down or use idiotic, nonsensical standards in order to stay open should be outraged. If you’re facing some sort of fine because you didn’t require your patrons to wear a mask for the four second walk from the restaurant door to their table, I think you should spend a little time looking at Governor Gretchen Whiter and politicians like her.
I’m not saying that we should be as dramatic as the left. BUT. I mean, kinda. Because if they can’t live with their own stupid rules, then why should we? And if they think we should be punished when we break a rule, well then I dare say they should be punished as well. I’m not down with this rules for thee but not for me cockamamie. EAT WITH YOUR MASK ON, GRETCHEN.
And stop restricting travel and then traveling. If politicians can’t even live up to their own standards, why aren’t they getting any pushback for setting these standards in the first place. And I’m not talking about complaining. Some republicans have voiced their discontent.
Okay. But. What are you going to do about it??
At this point EVERYBODY knows that a lot of Republican politicians are full of hot air and are prone to inaction. “We should be angry.” Uh. Yeah. We are. We’ve been angry. Is there a step two we’re going to get to, or do we just keep talking about how angry we are…?
“It was an honest mistake,” Whitmer said. My twelve year old deflects better than this.
Maybe I’ll calm my tits tomorrow, but today I’m not in the mood for live and let live. The hypocrite should lose her job, end of story. Because either she thinks the regulations are important and the rules just don’t apply to her, or she thinks they’re BS rules and there’s no reason for her to follow them. Either way, I say, no ma’am! You’re not better than the citizens you serve, and if you think you are, you’re no longer fit for the position of Governor. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out.
