The rioters made their way to D.C. over the weekend. They defaced the Lincoln Memorial and the World War II Memorial. If this wasn’t disheartening enough, the rioters lit St. John’s Church on Fire.
If you haven’t read about the fire at St. John’s Church, you can read my earlier report here.
After a powerful and poignant speech where Trump showed genuine support for George Floyd’s family while also using strong language to denounce the destruction of the rioters, Trump walked with the Secret Service and some aids over to St. John’s Church.
Trump walking to St. John’s Church will go down as an iconic moment in our nation’s history. We saw him be truly presidential on that walk to the church, but we were only allowed to have those feelings in the moment.
Hard to imagine any other @POTUS having the guts to walk out of the White House like this: @realDonaldTrump pic.twitter.com/R9Da6W7Hhb

The liberal media and their pundits attacked his walk, and the subsequent pictures of him in front of the church like their lives depended on it.
How could you look at Trump in this picture and not see strength and determination? Instead of seeing Trump as a strong leader who won’t bow down to the pressure of these riots, they painted him as an evil tyrant ready to push back “peaceful” protestors to get a photo op.
Trump went there for two reasons:
Contrary to reports by mainstream media, a Washington D.C.-based radio reporter is reporting of the U.S. Park Police (the ones in charge of the park directly across from the White House) “tear gas was never used–instead smoke canisters were deployed, which don’t have an uncomfortable irritant in them.”
The report claims the real reason the “protestors” were being “dispersed” is because they were pelting the officers with water bottles and needed to be pushed back. The park claims to have not known about Trump’s plan to walk across the street.
This is an exciting development because the mainstream media have been using the term “tear gas” over and over again to describe the gas used to push back the “protestors.” Now reports are coming out that they weren’t moved for the “photo op,” but rather for the acts of aggression on the officers.
First on WTOP: U.S. Park Police is explaining its decision-making in clearing Lafayette Square, at least 20 minutes before DC's 7p curfew, on night 4 of protests….

As always, the mainstream media pounces on the opportunities to disparage Trump’s character and push false narratives to make him look bad.
When Trump walked to the church last night, I felt proud. Although I am Catholic and not Episcopalian, I knew that walk in support of that church was symbolic support for my church too. I wasn’t allowed to feel that way for long, because the mainstream media and their “religious” pundits told me it was staged because Orange Man bad, and I needed to forget any support for Christians.
Democrat Response:
This was a peaceful protest. And they are using tear gas. In the United States. In front of the White House.

military police just tear gassed and beat the shit out of protesters in Lafayette Park so Trump can walk across the street to St. Johns Church for a photo-op, though I'm sure he won't wear a mask because those are for cowards

The Military Police fired on innocent American citizens so trump could have a photo op at St. Johns Church
This is fucking insane

Trump literally just tear-gassed American citizens in order to do a photo op with a Bible at St. Johns Church.
No words. pic.twitter.com/L5B4yp1BKK

The President is a clear, imminent danger to our way of life.
We have never been closer to a dictatorship.
He has to go.

It is all the same message as if the Democratic party is sending emails with talking points. Within minutes of this happening, the words “photo op” when talking about Trump’s walk were being used by every liberal pundit in America. They didn’t care about the truth. Liberals have a clear objective, and that is to make Trump look bad at every turn and to take away our hope any chance they get.
Now for the Republican reaction:
Tonight the President of the United States used the American military to shoot peaceful protestors with rubber bullets & tear gas them.
For a photo op.
This is a horrifying use of presidential power against our own citizens, & has no place anywhere, let alone in America. Vote.

I don’t know anyone in “Antifa.” But I’m against facism. And @realDonaldTrump is a fascist.

Erin Burnett called President Trump holding up a Bible, a "bizarre" moment.
I find NOTHING bizarre about turning to God during one of our nation's most difficult times.
CNN is a disgrace.

He's using the American military against the American people.
He tear-gassed peaceful protesters and fired rubber bullets.
For a photo.
For our children, for the very soul of our country, we must defeat him. But I mean it when I say this: we can only do it together. https://t.co/G1yE67q9Nz

This is an incredibly important moment as the President @realDonaldTrump deliver remarks to the American people and walks to St. John’s Church. An extraordinary church where every President has prayed including Abraham Lincoln during the scourge and tragedy of the Civil War. 🇺🇸

Trump holding up a bible has so triggered the MSM. Like holding up a cross in front of a vampire. MSM more upset by Trump going to St Johns church than with the “peaceful protestors” who tried to burn it down.

We are tired of being pushed around by the left. I know I speak for a lot of conservatives when I say that I am no longer ashamed or scared of being conservative. I am proud to support the president.
He has been under attack since the moment he stepped onto that escalator. He never lets the abuse from the media stop him from doing what is right for America, and that is what we respect. No matter what comes his way, he is still a patriot first.
Any Christian who isn’t proud of the president that is brave enough to walk in the face of rioters while holding a bible on national television needs to pray for a softened heart. You can dislike his policies all you want, but he is the first President in a long time who has put religious liberty as a top priority and that deserves respect.
